
Dean, Kimutai Set School Records at Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. – Tulane Track and Field had a stellar weekend at North Carolina State's Raleigh Relays, featuring two school records, a first place finish, and multiple personal bests.
Janae Dean was the champion of the 800m, running a time of 2:04.30 to beat out 164 other racers. The gold-winning time is the fastest in Tulane history and the second school record Dean has set in her final season. In February, she set the indoor 800m record at Wisconsin's Windy City Invitational with 2:05.78.
Blezzin Kimutai the Tulane record in the outdoor 5000m at 15:54.12. She finished a stunning 14th of 179 competitors.
Zander Dunbar placed seventh in the men's 800m while setting a personal record of 1:49.02. His time is the third-best in Tulane history.
Tharushi Karunarathna placed 20th (2:08.01) in the 800m, while Reese Ragland (2:13.12) and Jasper Newton (2:13.40) both set personal bests in the event.
The Waves' next destination will be the Doc Anderson Multi Invitational at Troy University from April 4-5.
