
Tulane Hosts No. 34 Auburn for Senior Day on Friday

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane's men's tennis team will conclude the regular season on Friday as it welcomes the 34th-ranked Auburn Tigers to City Park Tennis Center on Senior Day. The Green Wave will honor seniors Luc Hoeijmans and Luka Petrovic prior to the match which is set to begin at 1 p.m.
The Wave enters the regular season finale with a 5-15 record including a 3-5 mark in home matches this season. Meanwhile, Auburn rolls into New Orleans with a 16-9 record overall despite dropping its last two matches.
On Friday, the matchup between Tulane and the Tigers will begin at 1 p.m. at City Park Tennis Center. Fans can also watch the match live on ESPN+.
This marks the seventh meeting between the Green Wave and Auburn with Tulane holding the series advantage 4-2. The Wave defeated the Tigers 4-1 in the most recent matchup on March 12, 2023, in New Orleans. Tulane holds a 3-0 mark at home against the Tigers and has not lost to Auburn since February 26, 2022, in Montgomery, Alabama, by a final score of 4-0.
Sophomore Hady El Kordy leads the Wave in singles play so far this spring with eight victories including six coming on the No. 2 court for Tulane. In doubles action, El Kordy and AJ Mercer have teamed to earn five wins primarily on the No. 3 court for Tulane holding a 4-2 record at that position.
Following the match against Auburn, Tulane will travel to Memphis, Tennessee, for the American Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Championship. The tournament will be hosted by Memphis at the Leftwich Tennis Center from Thursday, April 17, to Sunday, April 20.
