Green Wave Sits 10th After Opening Round of AAC Championship

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – At the end of the first round of play in the 2025 American Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championship Tulane holds tenth place out of 11 teams competing at Southern Hills Plantation Club. The Green Wave carded a team total of 302 (+14) through the first 18 holes of the tournament.

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane lead the tournament after the first round with a team score of 279 (-9).

Senior Matilde Innocent paced the Wave on Monday shooting a 74 (+2) to end the day tied for 22nd overall. She tied for the team lead and ranked tied for ninth in the field with four birdies in her first round. Fellow senior Ruhee Pandit also scored four birdies to post a 76 (+4) and sit tied for 33rd overall after the opening day.

Francesca Pompa was the second player on the leaderboard for the Green Wave as she landed tied for 27th with a first round score of 75 (+3) with a pair of birdies.

Up next in the standings for Tulane after the first 18 holes was Gabriella Gilrowski with a round score of 77 (+5) including three birdies which placed her tied for 38th in the field.

Rounding out the group for the Wave was Cristina Albertazzi in a tie for 50th overall with an opening-round score of 80 (+8).

Tulane will return to the course at Southern Hills Plantation Club for the second round of the AAC Women's Golf Championship on Tuesday. The Green Wave will be paired with UAB for round two teeing off on hole 10 beginning at 7 a.m. CT.
