Wave Moves into Tie for Ninth at AAC Championship

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – Two players climbed into the top 20 overall as Tulane golf moved up one spot into a tie with South Florida for ninth following the second round of the 2025 American Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championship. The Green Wave matched its scoring from the opening round posting another 302 (+14) on Tuesday to move to 604 (+28) through 36 holes.

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane remained atop the leaderboard with a 15-stroke lead at 569 (-7) for the tournament.

Freshman Francesca Pompa was the biggest mover for the Wave on day two at the Southern Hill Plantation Club. She carded a team best 72 (E) in the second round to move up 13 spots in the standings into a tie for 14th overall. Pompa recorded a pair of birdies on Tuesday to bring her tournament total to four and help her end the day with a 36-hole score of 147 (+3 – 75, 72).

Joining Pompa in the top 20 was senior Matilde Innocent who shot a 75 (+3) in her second round to move up two spots into a tie for 20th at 149 (+5 – 74, 75) overall. She added three birdies to her tournament scorecard to bring her total to seven which is tied for the team lead and seventh in the field.

Next up on the overall leaderboard for Tulane was Ruhee Pandit with a two-day score of 153 (+9 – 76, 77) putting her in a tie for 37th. Pandit also carded three birdies in her second round to match Innocenti with seven for the tournament.

Rounding out the group for the Wave were Gabriella Gilrowski and Cristina Albertazzi. Gilrowski ended the second round tied for 44th after posting an 80 (+8) on Tuesday to bring her 36-hole score to 157 (+13 – 77, 80). Albertazzi carded a 78 (+6) in her second round to land tied for 50th with a total score of 158 (+14).

On Wednesday, Tulane will hit the course at Southern Hills Plantation Club for the third and final round of the AAC Women's Golf Championship. The Green Wave will be paired with UTSA and Wichita State for the final 18 holes teeing off on hole 10 beginning at 7:50 a.m. CT. Coverage on ESPN+ of the third round will begin at 10:30 a.m. CT.
