Green Wave Eliminated from The Crown by USC

LAS VEGAS – Tulane men's basketball was eliminated in the first round of the inaugural College Basketball Crown on Tuesday night in Las Vegas falling 60-89 to USC in MGM Grand Garden Arena. With the loss. the Green Wave finished the season with a 19-15 record including making the program's first postseason appearance since 2014.
Four players ended the night in double figures for the Wave led by Asher Woods with 18 points. The junior guard also added four rebounds and a pair of assists as he recorded his 20th game this season with at least 10 points.
Rowan Brumbaugh closed the season scoring double digits in 30 consecutive games after finishing with 11 points, seven assists, and three steals against the Trojans. The duo of Gregg Glenn III and Tyler Ringgold each added 10 points. Meanwhile, Logan Stephens and Joseph Teich tallied career highs in scoring as Stephens posted five points and Teich added three for his first collegiate points.
USC shot 63.6 percent from the field as a team with three players reaching double figures in scoring. Rashaun Agee led all scorers in the contest with 27 points on 10-of-12 shooting while also adding nine boards and four blocks.
Tulane got off to a bit of a slow start against the Trojans until Ringgold and Woods knocked down back-to-back buckets to build some rhythm for the Wave. The Green Wave trailed by four points with 11:03 to play in the first half, but a 10-2 run by USC quickly pushed the deficit to double digits.
A layup by Glenn pulled the Wave back within nine at 19-28 with 3:46 on the clock. However, USC finished the first half on a 11-5 run to put Tulane down 24-39 at the break.
