Tulane Track and Field Back in Action This Weekend
Jan 29, 2026 | Track & Field
NEW ORLEANS āĀ After a week off from competition, the Tulane track and field program returns to action with a split weekend as the team will participate in both the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational and the John Thomas Terrier Classic. Respectively, the events are hosted by Louisville and Boston.
Ā
The PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational takes place at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center. This will mark the Green Wave's second meet at this venue after competing there in the first event of 2026, Kentucky's Rod McCravy Memorial Invitational. Emblematic of a full split, only field athletes are competing in this competition.
Ā
The John Thomas Terrier Classic is held at Boston University's Track and Tennis Center. Just track athletes are shipping up to Boston with the women's events taking place on Friday and the men's events scheduled for Saturday.
Ā
Both events are two-day meets that begin on Friday, January 30, and conclude on Saturday, January 31. The John Thomas Terrier Classic will be streamed on FloTrack. Action begins in Louisville for Tulane at 12:10 p.m. CT Friday with Sofie Groeninger's first pentathlon event, the high jump. The first action on Saturday is the triple jump, beginning at 9:30 a.m. CT with Presley Wolfe competing. In Boston, the first Wave event on Friday is the 800 meters, which kicks off at 10:45 a.m. CT and features Maria Alduan and Jasper Newton. Samuel Cohen, Roman Schrader, and Jalen St. Fort begin Tulane's day on Saturday with the men's 800 meters at 10:50 a.m. CT.
