
Stolakis Places Fifth on Day Two of TNBA Open

BATON ROUGE, La. – No. 17 Tulane earned the fifth seed for bracket play after going 3-2 across five traditional matches Saturday at All Star Lanes. Mia Stolakis led the way for the Green Wave on the second day of the TNBA Open, placing fifth to earn an all-tournament team nod.

Tulane opened the day against Grambling, claiming a 985-553 triumph. The Wave stumbled in the following match, dropping a 1,062-845 contest to Oklahoma Christian. Two bounce-back victories followed, as Tulane bested Alabama State 960-860 and Southern 903-857. The day concluded against host Jackson State, with the Tigers earning a 960-861 win.

Mia Stolakis claimed an all-tournament team honor by placing fifth in the individual standings, totaling 1,067 pins at an average of 213.40 per game. She eclipsed 200 in four of the five games, bowling rounds of 240, 210, 247, 206, and 164.

Three total Tulane bowlers placed in the top 20 with Valeria Colon in 12th after tallying a score of 979. She averaged 195.80 after games of 225, 189, 206, 177, and 182. Juanelyz Solla was 19th with a total of 935. She put forth games of 206, 138, 205, 206, and 180 to average 187.00.

Sarah Rubi was the last Wave bowler to compete in all five games, placing 25th with a total score of 844. She averaged 168.80 after bowling games of 165, 161, 148, 177, and 193. Linnea Holcomb bowled three times, scoring 147, 154, and 137 to total 438. She placed 39th and averaged 146.00. Rounding out the Tulane competitors is Emma Figert, who bowled twice with scores of 149 and 172. Figert totaled 321 pins and averaged 160.50 to place 44th.

Tulane is fifth out of the eight teams entering tomorrow's bracket portion. Bracket play on Sunday will see each team compete in three best-of-seven Baker matches.
