Feb 4, 2026 | Sailing
NEW ORLEANS – The table is set for another spring on the water for Tulane University sailing as Head Coach Charles Higgins announced the program's spring 2026 schedule Wednesday. The Green Wave will compete in 18 regular season regattas, including the SEISA Conference Championships, before the ICSA National Championships complete the spring campaign.
Among the 18 regattas this season the Wave will host five competitions on the waters of Lake Pontchartrain, including the SEISA Championships. Tulane is also set to host the ICSA Team Race National Championships for the first time since 2022 when the Green Wave won the Open National Championship for the first time since 1973.
The SEISA Conference Championships will be hosted in two separate regattas in New Orleans. First will be the team race championships held on April 2-3 followed by the fleet race championships on April 18-19. Meanwhile, the team race national championship on Lake Pontchartrain will take place from April 23-27.
Tulane will begin its spring slate on the road on February 20-21 at the Corpus Christi Team Race hosted by Texas A&M Corpus Christi.
The following weekend the Wave will host its first home regattas of the season from February 28-March 1. Over that weekend Tulane will compete in two regatta – the Green Wave Women's Team Race and the Nelson Roltsch Team Race – both hosted on Lake Pontchartrain.
On March 7-8 the Green Wave will head back on the road for three different regattas. In Charleston, South Carolina, Tulane will have a crew competing in the Bob Bavier Team Race and the Phebe Corckran King Team Race both hosted by the College of Charleston. Meanwhile, in St. Mary's, Maryland, a team for the Wave will take part in the St. Mary's Open Team Race hosted by St. Mary's College of Maryland.
Tulane will remain on the road for the remainder of the month of March racing in a total of six different regattas. The Green Wave will split teams in New London, Connecticut, and Charleston, South Carolina, on March 14-15 to compete in the Southern New England Team Race hosted by Connecticut College and the Charleston Women's Team Race hosted by the College of Charleston.
The next weekend will send the Wave to Norfolk, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., on March 21-22. Old Dominion will welcome Tulane for the Szambecki Team Race in Virginia while Georgetown will host the Green Wave in the Blaire Herron Women's Team Race in D.C.
To close out the month of March Tulane will send teams to each coast of the United States. A women's crew will make the trip to Providence, Rhode Island, for the Dellenbaugh Women's Team Race hosted by Brown while a separate squad will make the journey to Palo Alto, California, for the Triad Scrimmage hosted by Stanford. Both road regattas will take place on March 28-29.
The Green Wave will begin the month of April back at home with the SEISA Team Race Conference Championships. The conference championship regatta will be held on Lake Pontchartrain from April 2-3. Tulane will follow up the championships by hosting the Tulane Women's Team Race and another Triad Scrimmage on April 4-5.
From April 11-12 the Wave will be back on the road to compete in the Thompson Trophy Team Race and the Truxton Umsted. The Thompson Trophy Team Race will be hosted by the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut, while the Truxton Umsted will be held by Navy in Annapolis, Maryland.
