No. 17 Tulane Bowling Returns to Action with Flyer Classic
Feb 5, 2026 | Women's Bowling
LOCKPORT, Ill. – After an unexpected off weekend due to inclement weather, the 17th-ranked Tulane bowling program is back in action this weekend with the Flyer Classic, hosted by Lewis University. The three-day event begins tomorrow, Friday, February 6, and runs through Sunday, February 8, at Strike & Spare II.
Â
The format this weekend will feature five sets of five Baker matches on Friday beginning at 10:35 a.m. Saturday's slate includes five traditional matches starting at 9:25 a.m., and Sunday wraps play with the bracket portion of three best-of-seven Baker matches beginning at 8:10 a.m.
Â
The 26-team field includes several challenging opponents, as 12 of the participating programs are ranked in the top 25. Alongside No. 17 Tulane, the other ranked squads are No. 1 Jacksonville State, No. 2 Vanderbilt, No. 3 Arkansas State, No. 7 Youngstown State, No. 10 Maryville, No. 11 Sacred Heart, No. 12 Wright State, No. 13 NC A&T, No. 14 Sam Houston, No. 16 Newman, and No. 18 Valparaiso.
Â
The Green Wave was originally scheduled to compete last weekend in the Duquesne Invitational, but travel concerns for multiple participating programs due to winter weather forced the event's cancellation. With the schedule change, Tulane last competed on January 17 and 18 in the SWIBC V and VI to open the spring slate of action. The Wave won both events, sweeping the weekend as Linnea Holcomb and Lyllian Smith each claimed the respective individual titles.
Â
Tulane will be off next week before competing again at the end of the month in The National Bowling Association Open. The event takes place in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, from February 27 to March 1.
