
Brumbaugh & Woods Earn American Conference Honors

IRVING, Texas – The veteran backcourt duo for Tulane men's basketball garnered a pair of American Conference postseason awards, announced by the league office on Tuesday. Redshirt junior Rowan Brumbaugh was named Second Team All-Conference while junior Asher Woods won the Amir Abdur-Rahim Sportsmanship Award.

Brumbaugh garnered Second Team All-Conference recognition after finishing the regular season averaging 18.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.6 steals per game leading the Green Wave in each category. He ended the season ranked second in minutes played, third in scoring, sixth in steals, and ninth in assists in the league. The redshirt junior tallied double figures in scoring in 29 of 31 games this season including nine games with 20-plus points and three games with more than 30.
In conference play Brumbaugh averaged 18.4 points per game on 44.9 percent shooting from the floor to go with 5.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists. He tallied double figures in 17 of 18 conference games including six performances with 20-plus points. Brumbaugh also posted a career-high 35 points on the road against Charlotte on January 23.

Woods was honored with the Amir Abdur-Rahim Sportsmanship Award for best exemplifying the qualities of sportsmanship, fair play, and leadership. On the court he averaged 12.9 points, 3.1 boards, 2.0 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. He also led Tulane in free throw percentage connecting at an 83.9 percent clip from the charity stripe which ranked sixth in the conference.
Throughout the regular season the Atlanta, Georgia, native recorded 20 games with double digits in scoring including four games with more than 20 points. Woods also notched a career high in scoring twice during the season totaling 24 points in the season-opener against Samford on November 3 and in a home victory over Rice on February 22.
Off the court, Woods gives back to the community in his hometown of Atlanta as well as in New Orleans. In Atlanta, he sponsors and coaches a girls' AAU basketball team, supporting their development and coaching them in tournaments nationwide during breaks from Tulane. In New Orleans, he volunteers at the Hope Lodge cancer facility, where he helps distribute meals and spends time connecting with patients.
