
No. 17 Green Wave Claims Four Wins on Day Two of Music City Classic

SMYRNA, Tenn. – No. 17 Tulane closed out the qualifying portion of the Music City Classic with a 4-1 record on day two at the Smyrna Bowling Center Saturday. The Green Wave picked up a pair of ranked victories to enter tomorrow's bracket portion as the No. 14 seed.

Today's slate featured five traditional matches, and Tulane opened the day with a battle against No. 5 Louisiana Tech. The Wave got the better of the top-five in-state foe with a 1,045-951 triumph. A tilt against No. 13 McKendree was next, and the Wave again claimed a ranked victory by a margin of 1,007-887. Tulane then bested Fairleigh Dickinson 903-859. In the penultimate match of the day, Wisconsin-Whitewater won 963-918. This was Tulane's lone loss of the day, however, as the Wave bounced back to finish strong with an 883-780 triumph over Prairie View A&M.

Valeria Colon totaled 993 pins with an average of 198.60 to lead Tulane today, placing 39th. She posted games of 196-216-213-171-197. Paige Matiasek was 55th with a total of 960, averaging 192.00. Her scores were 187-218-168-215-172. Mia Stolakis was not far behind in 57th with a pin tally of 954. With games of 227-191-160-212-164, she averaged 190.80. Sarah Rubi was the last Wave bowler to compete in all five matches, placing 106th with a score of 850. She averaged 170.00 with scores of 168-170-180-181-151. Linnea Holcomb bowled in four matches, placing 121st with a tally of 800. She averaged 200.00 with her scores of 267-212-182-139. Emma Figert tagged in for the final match, delivering a 199 performance.
