Salsberry and Wolfe to Compete in LSU Alumni Gold

BATON ROUGE, La. – A pair of Tulane field athletes will be in action tomorrow across three events as Cara Salsberry and Presley Wolfe will compete in the LSU Alumni Gold at Bernie Moore Stadium. Live results for the meet can be found here.
Salsberry competes in the first of her two events at 10:00 a.m. with the hammer throw. At 12:45 p.m., Wolfe will partake in the pole vault, and Salsberry will conclude her day with the discus at 1:15 p.m.
In her throwing events, Salsberry is putting together one of the best seasons in Tulane history. She has twice set the program record for the hammer throw, most recently besting her own record last weekend at the Tom Tellez Alumni Invitational by hurling a 59.54m. She is still chasing the program record in the discus, currently second all-time with a 50.03m, which she also threw last weekend. Her hammer mark is 60th in the NCAA, and her discus clip is 95th nationally.
The regular season will come to a close next weekend with a pair of meets for the Green Wave. A Tulane contingent will head back to College Station, Texas, for the Alumni Muster, hosted by Texas A&M. The two-day meet takes place on May 1 and 2. Also on May 2, the Wave will have a portion of the team in action back in Baton Rouge for another one-day LSU event, the LSU Invitational. After an off week, the program will head to Denton, Texas, for the American Conference Outdoor Championships.
