Career: A spark plug off the bench who also started games at second base for the Green Wave during his lone season on campus after spending four years at Sam Houston State…hit .148 across 22 games with six starts…scored two runs and knocked in two…was the opening day starting second baseman for the Green Wave in 2016.

2016 (Redshirt-Senior): Appeared in 22 games with 6 starts, all at second base…batted .148 with two runs, four hits, two RBI and four walks…notched a slugging percentage of .148 while posting an on-base percentage of .273…started at second base on opening day vs. Illinois (2/19)...walked and scored a run vs. Nebraska (2/28)...was 1-for-1 as a pinch hitter vs. Pepperdine (3/4 and 3/5) on back-to-back days, notching an RBI on 3/4...posted a sac fly against Cincinnati (4/17).

Prior to Tulane

Sam Houston State (2012-15): Played three years for the Bearkats (2012-14) before redshirting the 2015 season…was a part of three NCAA Regional Teams (2012-14), as well as three Southland Conference Regular Season Champion squads…hit .208 in 102 games with 78 starts…owns 42 runs, 14 doubles, four home runs, 34 RBI and one stolen base…hit .203 as a true freshman with two home runs and six RBI in 28 games…hit .245 in 22 contests as a sophomore…played in 52 games with 45 starts as a junior, scoring 32 runs and collecting 34 RBI.

Prep: A three-year letterman at Episcopal High School in Houston…played catcher and second base…helped lead the Knights to the Southwest Preparatory League Championships as a junior and a senior…hit .410 with nine home runs as a senior while hitting .385 with four homers as a junior…earned First-Team All-SPC honors as a junior and senior…was named to the preseason All Greater Houston Team by the Houston Area High School Coaches prior to his senior campaign…also lettered three times in football as a defensive back for the Knights…helped lead the football team to the SPC Championship as a junior while earning All-SPC honors as a senior.

Personal: Born Shea Alexander Pierce on April 22, 1993…the son of Susan and David Pierce…father, David, is the head coach for the Green Wave baseball team…father was also the head coach for Sam Houston State’s baseball squad from 2012-14…has one sister, Chelsea…will work on a Master’s of Liberal Arts at Tulane.
