Summer Ball: Spent summer 2001 as a member of Team USA where he started at shortstop and second base until dislocating his non-throwing shoulder seven games into the season...hit .250 (5-for-20) with one RBI and a pair of walks before being injured...helped Team USA to a 7-2 win over Japan in Okinawa by collecting four of the team[apos]s 10 hits.
High School: Three-year starting shortstop at Christian Brothers Academy for coach Martin Kenney... listed in Baseball America[apos]s Top 100 High School Prospects and Super 25 Prospects, and the USA Today Fabulous 50 Prospects as a sen-ior...named to Carpenter Cup team his final three prep seasons and was an All-Monmouth honoree as a senior...as a junior, listed as the No. 27 prospect by Baseball America after hitting .484 with 45 hits, 42 RBI and 51 runs...also earned second team all-conference and all-Parochial honors as a junior...hit .456 with 16 RBI as a sophomore, earning third-team all-county honors...played the 1998 and 1999 summers with the Bayside Yankees where he hit .407 with 49 RBI and 17 doubles to earn team MVP honors in 1999...earned a spot on the Yankee[apos]s 'Team of the Decade'...off the diamond, was a member of the honor roll all four years.
