Career: The finest defensive catcher in all of college baseball during his three-year collegiate career at Tulane…a career .233 hitter in 169 games with 159 starts…scored 84 runs with 19 doubles, one triple, seven home runs, 57 RBI and 18 stolen bases…hit one of the biggest home runs in Tulane history with a one-out, two-run, go-ahead home run in the top of the ninth in an elimination game against Ole Miss at the 2016 NCAA Oxford Regional to knock out the Rebels…gunned down 83 potential base stealers in 146 chances (.568) in addition to picking off nine runners over his career…finished his career first in school history in most runners caught stealing (83), third in fielding percentage (.991), tied for fifth in most runners picked off (9), sixth in most chances (1,332), sixth in most putouts (1,092) and tied for 14th in most sacrifice hits (17)…was a third-round draft pick (97th overall) of the Houston Astros in the 2016 MLB First-Year Player Draft.
