Prior to Tulane: Played in 12 games as a true freshman at the University of Florida...hit .333 with four hits in 12 at-bats, including one double...posted hits against Charleston Southern (2/20), Savannah State (2/20), Siena (2/27) and Austin Peay (3/8)...drove in a career-best two runs vs. Siena (2/27) with a single and a walk...recorded first career stolen base vs. Charleston Southern (2/3).
Summer Ball: Played for the Danbury Westerners of the New England Collegiate Baseball League in 2003...selected to play in the NECBL All-Star Game and represented the Southern Divisionin the Home Run Derby...went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and hammered seven homers in the derby to finish third...finished tied for second in the league with seven home runs and third in RBI with 36.
High School: Three-year letterman at Delbarton High for coach Brian Fleury...selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 19th round of the 2001 draft...for his career, hit .426 (83-for-195) with 13 home runs and 63 RBI...selected to play in the 2000 Team One National Showcase and the Area Code Baseball Games, and was named Area Code All-Star and to the prestigious National Classic all-tournament team...selected to play for the 1999 USA Youth National Team and played for the New Jersey Riptide at the 1999 USA Junior Olympic Baseball Championships...as a senior, earned third-team All-America honors from the National High School Baseball Coaches Association, first-team AP All-State recognition and second-team NBC All-State notoriety after hitting .475 with eight home runs and 26 RBI...as a junior, hit .471 with 26 runs scored, eight doubles, two triples and five homers...also lettered three times in football where he helped the Green Wave win the Northern Hills Conference all three years and won a state championship...off the diamond, was an active member of several community service programs.
