Bryan Hodge started at Tulane as an assistant coach in August of 2025. He will work as the catching coach while also assisting the hitters, the running game and aiding in recruiting.
Hodge arrives at Tulane after most recently working as the assistant coach at Lenoir-Rhyne (LR) during the 2025 season. He aided the program to a historic campaign in which Head Coach Adam Skonieczki was named the ABCA’s Southeast Coach of the Year and Perfect Game’s Co-National Coach of the Year following a 50-15 season. The team made a run all the way to the semifinals of the Division II Baseball Championship while setting a new DII record with 137 home runs. The team also successfully stole 99 bases in 113 attempts (88 percent) and had three Division II All-Americans in Mackenzie Wainwright, Cole Stanford and Sal Carricato. Stanford, a catcher that Hodge directly worked with, was also a CSC Academic All-American and transferred to perennial Southeastern Conference power the Florida Gators in the summer of 2025. The Bears’ offense finished in the top 10 nationally in nine different categories including putting up a team batting average of .345 and 305 extra base hits.
Hodge, prior to his time at Lenoir-Rhyne, worked as an assistant at Arkansas State during the 2024 season where he played a key role in transforming the team’s offensive approach. He implemented a new run game system that resulted in a 60% increase in stolen bases, coached third base, and contributed to daily offensive development while working directly as the catching coach.
Prior to his time at Arkansas State, Hodge served as the recruiting coordinator at Eastern Oklahoma State College in 2023, where he oversaw an offense that led the nation in stolen bases per game. His influence helped the program set a record for stolen bases, and five of his hitters signed with Division I programs. The team he helped recruit and put together made a run to the 2025 Junior College World Series.
The Thornton, Colo. native spent the 2022 season gaining coaching experience at Penn State-Behrend. At Penn State-Behrend, he helped develop five all-conference hitters and contributed to an offensive resurgence that tripled the team’s home run total from the previous season.
From 2020-2021, he coached at East Texas Baptist University, mentoring catchers and assisting with an offense that produced 10 all-league hitters and four all-region selections. His recruiting efforts helped ETBU land two Perfect Game top 30 recruiting classes, and in 2021, the coaching staff earned Coaching Staff of the Year honors in both the American South Conference and Division III West Region.
Hodge began his coaching career at his alma mater, Houghton College in New York, where he served as an assistant for one season. As a player, he was a four-year starter, a team captain, and an All-Empire 8 Conference Second Team selection in his senior season.
