TUCSON, Ariz. - Arizona's (12-8) Ben Diggins and Mike Meyer had four hits each for the Wildcats as they went on to beat the Tulane (5-5) baseball team 19-7 on Saturday.
Arizona collected 21 hits on the day and the 19 runs scored are the most Tulane has allowed since 1997.
Diggins hit two home runs and drove in a game-high five runs. Meyer, making his first career start at catcher, hit a three run homer in the fourth to put the Cats up 15-6.
Arizona's Mike Crawford (4-3) got the win in relief of starter Brian Pemble, throwing 5 1/3 innings and allowing zero earned runs. Tulane's Jared Berkowitz (2-1) got the loss, allowing eight hits and 10 runs in just 1 2/3 innings.
Jake Gautreau had three hits to lead the Wave. Matt Groff had two hits and his first home run of the year.
The Wave plays Arizona on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. (CST) on Sunday.
