Tulane Tops Cincinnati

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Tulane's (10-5, 2-2 C-USA) Steve Shirley hit two home runs and the Wave posted 17 hits en route to a 14-6 win over Cincinnati (13-7, 2-2 C-USA) on Friday evening.
The Green Wave scored in every inning but the fourth and fifth, and scored eight in the second. The Bearcats were held to just seven hits on the evening.
Andy Cannizaro broke the Conference USA career stolen base record with the 95th of his career. Cannizaro and Shirley each drove in three runs. Shirley was 2-for-4 with three runs scored.
James Jurries got the first hit of the season as he went 4-for-5 with one run and one RBI.
Tulane's Matt Foster (6-1) picked up the win. He went five innings gave up five hits and three runs. Foster struck out four.
Cincinnati's Joey List (2-3) got the loss after going 1 2/3 innings. He gave up four hits and seven runs, five earned.
Bearcats' Kevin Youkilis had a team high two RBI, while Craig Tewes was 1-for-3.
