NEW ORLEANS - More than 21,000 tickets have been sold for the Tulane-LSU baseball game which will be played April 10, 2002 at 7 p.m. in the Louisiana Superdome. The number of tickets sold for the game has surpassed the regular season attendance record for a collegiate baseball game.
A regular season game between TCU and Texas played at The Ballpark at Arlington on March 4, 1996 attracted 21,043 fans. Friday, ticket sales for the Tulane-LSU contest passed that number with five days remaining until the game.
"We moved this game to the Superdome back in February because we felt that interest in this series and in this game had the potential to attract a record-breaking crowd," said Scott Sidwell, Tulane Associate Athletics Director. "Interest in this game continues to grow as we get closer to game day, which just proves that we have some of the best college baseball fans in the world here in Louisiana. I think the all-time record is definitely within reach and it should be a great night at the Superdome."
The overall (regular or post season) all-time collegiate record was set at the 1999 College World Series in Omaha, Neb., when 24,859 fans packed into Rosenblatt Stadium for a two-game session featuring Miami vs. Alabama and Rice vs. Oklahoma.
Tickets for the Tulane-LSU game remain on sale and good seats are still available. Individual tickets are priced at $15 and $12 for adult reserved seats, and $6 for adult general admission (outfield). Youth tickets are available for $8 (reserved) and $4 general admission.

All phone orders should be directed to Ticketmaster at 504-522-5555. Phone orders will NOT be accepted at Tulane or at the Superdome.
