"I think we played much smarter in the second half," Tulane head coach Lisa Stockton said. "We executed our offense better after halftime and were able to get Teana (McKiver) and Gwen (Slaughter) more involved. I thought our trapping defense really bothered them, too. We really had a lot of defensive intensity tonight."

Joseph added 12 points and 10 rebounds for her first career double-double and had five assists. Slaughter chipped in 11 points and 11 rebounds for her second double-double in as many games. Memphis was just 18-of-62 (29.0 percent) from the field for the game, including a 1-of-8 showing from behind the three-point line (12.5 percent). The Green Wave had a 45-39 edge on the boards and forced 25 Memphis turnovers.
"We got another great contribution from our bench today, especially from Lakethia (Hampton)," Stockton added. "And Delacey really did a great job of crashing the boards."
The Green Wave got 25 points from its bench and scored 18 points off Memphis' turnovers. Kelly Nadeau nabbed five steals for Tulane.
Tulane returns to action on Friday, as the Green Wave travel to face league rival Southern Miss in Hattiesburg.
