
Women's Basketball Races Past South Florida

TAMPA, Fla. - The Tulane women's basketball team scored a season-high 87 points as the Green Wave cruised to an 87-55 win over South Florida at the Sun Dome on Friday.
With the win, Tulane improves to 15-7 overall and is 6-3 in Conference USA play. South Florida drops to 5-17 overall and 0-9 in league action.
The win was the 200th victory at Tulane for Green Wave head coach Lisa Stockton.
Tulane had five players score in double figures, led by Delacy Joseph's 16. She also added four rebounds and three assists. Lakethia Hampton chipped in 15 points, five rebounds and three steals off the bench, while Teana McKiver had 13 points, four rebounds and a team-high five assists. Tiffany Wilson, making her first start of the season, and Kelly Nadeau each added 10 points for Tulane. Wilson also pulled down seven rebounds to go along with two assists and two steals.
The Green Wave raced out to 38-17 lead at halftime behind 53.8 percent shooting (14-of-26). Tulane didn't cool off in the second half, hitting 55.2 percent of their shots en route to 54.5 percent shooting for the game (30-of-55). The Wave held South Florida to just 18.8 percent shooting in the opening stanza (6-of-32) and to just 31.7 percent shooting for the game (20-of-63). Tulane also limited South Florida to just three three-pointers, as the Bulls were 3-of-29 from behind the arc (10.3 percent).
Tulane returns to action on Sunday, as the Green Wave travel to face league rival UAB. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. in Birmingham.
