
Women's Basketball Takes on Lamar Wednesday at Fogelman Arena

NEW ORLEANS - After an 11-day break the Tulane women's basketball team looks for its sixth win in the last seven games Wednesday night at Fogelman Arena against the Lamar Cardinals in a 7 p.m. tip-off.
The Green Wave (7-2) last played on Dec. 9, a 83-68 win over Alabama in which four players were in double-figures and Ashley Langford recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 assists. Nikki Luckhurst connected on five three-pointers for a season-high 17 points.
Lamar enters with a record of 3-7 as the Cardinals are coming off a loss at Alcorn State, 64-58, on Monday night. Guard LaToya Carson posted a double-double for the Cardinals with 20 points and 10 rebounds.
Series history:
Lamar leads the all-time series, 3-0, with the last meeting coming December 7, 1984; a 63-59 Cardinal win.

All-time, Tulane is 259-141 (.649) in 32 seasons at Fogelman Arena, including 3-1 this season.
Balanced Attack
Tulane had four players in double-figure scoring for the fifth time this season against Alabama. Nine different Tulane players have scored 10 or more points in a game this season.
Ashley's Assists
Sophomore Ashley Langford picked up Tulane's first double-double of the season with 12 points and a season-high 11 assists. It's the sixth time she's recorded 10 or more assists in a game, all in the top nine single-game totals in school history.

Tulane is 10th in the country in steals, averaging 13.8 per game. D'Aundra Henry and Ashley Langford are tied for 36th in the NCAA with 3.0 per game. The Green Wave recorded 21 steals against Loyola, the third-most ever in a game for Tulane.
The D' Stands For...
D'Aundra Henry matched up with Miami leading scorer Amanda Jackson and held her to 14 points below her average, forcing 10 turnovers. Henry picked up six steals, a season-high seven rebounds and scored 16 points.

Ashley's All-America
Ashley Langford is currently ranked 24th in the NCAA in assists per game (5.7), second in C-USA. Her free throw percentage ranks fifth in the NCAA and she is 36th in steals. Last season she earned Freshman All-American honors from the Women's Basketball News Service, after leading all NCAA freshman in assists (171) and finishing fifth overall.

Tulane is 7-0 this season against unranked opponents. Tulane's losses are at the hand of No. 23 (Coaches')/No. 25 (AP) Texas Tech and then-No. 10/No. 9. LSU.
Montagnino MoJo
Senior guard Jami Montagnino scored 30 points against Rhode Island, her second career 30-point contest. She picked up FIU Classic All-Tournament honors and leads Tulane with 15.9 PPG.
Charity Stripe
Ashley Langford has knocked down 47-of-49 free throws (.959), good for fifth in the NCAA. She's hit 17-for-17 in her last two games. Jami Montagnino is 44-for-47 this season (.936), eighth in the NCAA, second in C-USA (Langford leads).
Dueling Free Throws
Jami Montagnino was the school's career leader in free throw percentage until Ashley Langford (.905, 133-147) qualified, bumping Montagnino (.856, 185-216) to second.
A Cornacopia of Wins: FIU Thanksgiving Classic Champs
Tulane won the FIU Thanksgiving Classic with wins over Villanova and host Florida International. D'Aundra Henry (MVP) added 26 points and five steals, while Jami Montagnino (All-Tournament Team) added 25 points and nine boards.
Smothered by the Wave
Tulane has held four teams to 60 points or less this season and became the third team to hold LSU under 60 points since 2005-06 started (joining No. 4 Duke, and No. 7 Connecticut).
