NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane women's basketball team heads back out on the road, with a contest Saturday against Louisiana-Monroe at 2 p.m. at Fant-Ewing Coliseum. The Green Wave will be after their first road victory against the 4-1 Warhawks.
Tulane (2-3) returned to Fogelman Arena Wednesday with a 80-65 win over Louisiana-Lafayette. Five players scored in double-figures, led by Chassity Brown's 18. Megan Valicevic added 14 points, while a trio of players - Ashley Langford, Brittany Lindsey and Brett Benzio -- each posted 12 points.
The Green Wave are averaging 77.5 points per game at home, but 49.3 on the road.
Benzio recorded her first double-double, snaring a career-high 15 rebounds to go with her career-best point total.
The Warhawks will be playing their third-straight game against a Conference USA opponent. After a season-opening loss to Arkansas, Louisiana-Monroe has won four straight with wins over Centenary and Morgan State, Marshall and Southern Miss.

The Green Wave are playing their final game of a four-games in eight day stretch. Tulane opens the season with six games in 15 days in November, including the Preseason WNIT.
- Tulane vs Louisiana-Monroe
Tulane trails the all-time versus the Warhawks, 6-5, but has won three of the four meetings between the two teams since 1981. The Green Wave won last season, 77-72, on Dec. 29 in Fogelman Arena. Tulane has lost both of the previous contests at Louisiana-Monroe.
- All About This Benzio, Baby
`Diaper Dandy' Brett Benzio has been no baby in the paint, as the 6-3 forward leads Tulane in rebounding with 9.6 per game. She hauled in 12 rebounds in her debut vs Illinois State, and recorded her first double-double against Louisiana-Lafayette with a career high 15 rebounds and a career-best 12 points.
- Chassity's Scoring Virtue
Chassity Brown nailed her first four attempts from three-point range against the Ragin' Cajuns, scoring a season-high 16 points. She also handed out five assists.
- Assisted Living
Tulane's 28 field goals versus ULL were the product of 23 Green Wave assists. Ashley Langford led the way with six, but Megan Valicevic added a career-high five dimes, while Chassity Brown added a season-best five. Three other players, including Tia Jackson, each handed out a pair of assists in the win
- Offense Gets Going
After scoring 26 points in the first 33 minutes against LSU, Tulane finally got its offense going late with 21 points in the final seven minutes. Tulane then scored 80 points at home against Louisiana-Lafayette, giving them 101 points in 47 minutes. In the previous 83 minutes, the Wave had totalled 103 points.

Junior transfer Indira Kaljo has drained nine of her 18 three-point attempts for a .500 percentage. She connected on 8 of her first 11 triple attempts, and hit threes in Tulane's first four games.
- Scoring Balance
Tulane has been led in scoring by four different players in five games, with six different players have hit double-figures.
- Lindsey's Hot Hand
Brittany Lindsey connected on 7-of-12 from the field at VCU for a team-high 17 points. She struck for 7-of-13 at LSU, and 6-of-11 vs ULL. Her .509 FG percentage leads the Wave. She has hit half her shots in each of the last four contests.
- Out Shoot `Em
Tulane is 12-0 dating back to last season when connecting at a higher field goal percentage than its opponent, and 5-17 when posting a lower one (1-0 when same). Tulane outshot Illinois State and Louisiana-Lafayette, are 0-3 this season when outshot.
- Getting Defensive
Tulane held Illinois State Redbirds to 62 points, over 14 points below their average last season (76.9). The Green Wave also held VCU to 65 points and LSU to 63. In four of Tulane's five games, the Wave have held opponents to 65 points or less.
- Deuce's Dimes
Ashley Langford moved into third on the Conference USA all-time assist list with 555. In her last two games, Langford has doled out 13 assists.
- Mo' Experience, Mo Points for Ro'
In two games, Roshaunda Barnes has passed her totals for all of last season in points. Her first game of 2008-09 brought her to within one of her 2007-08 totals in points and rebounds (seven vs Illinois State). Barnes' six points in the opener were one shy of the seven points she totalled all of last season as a freshman.

In Tulane's win over Illinois State, the Wave got to the free throw line 30 times. Tulane is 2-0 when attempting 17 or more free throws, and 0-3 when attempting less.

Tulane faces Jackson State on Friday, Dec. 5, at Lake Front Arena on the first day of the Big Easy Classic. Tulane will play at 4:30, prior to UNO vs Indiana State. On Saturday, the action moves to Fogelman Arena, as the Wave take on Indiana State (approximate tip of 4 p.m.), with UNO versus Jackson State to follow. The Tulane men's team starts Saturday's action at 2 p.m. against Western Kentucky.
