What year did you graduate? After being drafted by the San Diego Padres in 2001, I played professionally for eight years. I retired from playing this spring and I am now enrolled as a full time student. I plan on graduating in the fall of 2010.
1.Where do you currently reside? My wife and I currently live in New Orleans, LA.
2.What is your current profession? I am currently an Assistant Baseball Coach at Tulane University.
3.What is your fondest memory of your athletic career at Tulane? My fondest memory is beating LSU in the 2001 super regional to go to Omaha. It was the first College World Series appearance in Tulane history.
4.Do you still keep in contact with your former teammates? I made great friends while I played at Tulane and we still keep in touch.
5.What advice would you give to the current student athletes? Enjoy your time as a student athlete -- these are the best days of your life! Take full advantage of the great education that Tulane has to offer.
6.Do you still play your sport? I am no longer playing, but baseball is still a huge part of my life and I am fortunate to be a coach at Tulane.
7.Which student athlete, past or present, would you have liked to have had on your team? And Why? Jack Cressend. From what I hear, he was the ultimate competitor and a great teammate.
8.Who is your favorite all time Tulane student athlete? Obviously, my wife Erin Dobyanski Gautreau (volleyball).
9.Who was the toughest opponent you faced? In 2001, Oklahoma State was the best team we played on our road to Omaha.
10.What is your fondest memory of Tulane / New Orleans? Tulane / New Orleans are like a second home to me and have given me many special memories.
