NEW ORLEANS - When the NCAA baseball season concludes the players from each respective university begin their journey to various places around the nation and most of them are on their way to play in one of the many college baseball summer leagues. Below is an update on how the members of the Tulane baseball team are doing within their summer leagues.

Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League

The Green Wave has a trio of players playing in the CRCBL, with Brandon Boudreaux and Frank Florio playing for the Baltimore Redbirds and Brennan Middleton seeing action for the Bethesda Big Train. The Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League is an amateur summer wooden bat baseball league comprised of nine teams in the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan Region, which feature a 42 games schedule.
Middleton has helped the Big Train to a league-best 25-7 record at the all-star break, three games clear of second place Southern Maryland. The right-handed hitter is batting .274 in 25 games played with 11 runs scored and ten RBI's. He ranks third on the squad with ten walks and has been hit three times this summer.
Boudreaux was selected to the CRCBL All-Star squad that was announced last weekend and is among the team leaders in as handful of offensive categories. The Mandeville, La. native paces the Redbirds in runs scored (20) and fewest strikeouts (3), while sitting second in hits (25), batting average (.342), doubles (seven), triples (one), and is third in walks (17).
Florio has appeared in 26 games for the Redbirds and enters the all-star break with 19 hits in 76 at bats to account for his .250 batting average. He has scored 13 runs and driven in 12 RBI's. He has walked seven times and been hit four times. His three home runs are second on the team and he has added six doubles to his summer ball resume.
Cape Cod Baseball League

It is every college baseball players dream to get an invitation to the Cape Cod League and this summer the Green Wave had three players earn calls from the most coveted summer league in the nation. Randy LeBlanc was unable to make the trip after suffering an injury during the spring, but Garrett Cannizaro and Blake Crohan have each seen action for the Bourne Braves.
Cannizaro has seen action in 21 games this summer and is hitting .167 with eight runs scored and five RBI's for the Braves. Cannizaro has walked nine times and has the 60 fielding assists which leads the second place Braves. Crohan is batting .152 in just 14 appearances this season, collecting seven hits in 46 at-bats. He has three runs scored and two RBI's to go along with four walks and a hit-by-pitch.
Coastal Plains League

Alex Facundus is the Green Wave's lone representative in the CPL as a member of the Moorehead City Marlins. The submariner has appeared in eight games with three starts and has amassed 19.1 innings of work and a 0-1 record with one save. He has allowed just 17 hits and 14 runs - seven earned - and has fanned 20 hitters. He is limiting opponents to a .236 batting average against and owns a 3.26 ERA.
New England Collegiate Baseball League

In 18 games played, Andrew Garner is representing the Green Wave program well to the tune of a .375 batting average. The outfielder has 21 hits in 56 at-bats and ranks second on the team in runs scored (13), doubles (five), home runs (three) and RBI's (17). The NECBL All-Star Game (July 27) looks to be in the right-handers future, as he ranks among the top-five in the league in batting average and RBI's, while sitting in the top ten in home runs.
