HISTORY LESSON
• Friday's game between Tulane and Colorado State will be the first between the programs on the hardwood.
LAST TIME OUT
• Melvin Frazier led five Green Wave players in double-figures with his first career double-double comprising 25 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, as the Tulane men's basketball team defeated Southeastern Louisiana, 89-66, Monday evening in New Orleans.
• Frazier shot 10-for-13 from the field, including 4-for-6 from 3-point range, while his double-digit field goals and rebounds both marked a career highs, respectively. Blake Paul scored 10 points and blocked eight shots, tying the single-game program record. Lawrence Nelson was the last player to accomplish the feat on Jan. 24, 1998 against USF.
• Ray Ona Embo added 14 points, while Cameron Reynolds chipped in 13 points, six rebounds and three steals. Samir Sehic scored 12 points and grabbed six boards off the bench in just 11 minutes of action while shooting a perfect 10-for-10 at the free throw line.
• The Green Wave finished the night shooting a combined 31-for-52 (.596), including 8-for-17 (.471) from 3-point range, while Southeastern Louisiana went just 23-for-65 (.354) overall, 6-for-20 (.350) from deep and made half of its 28 free throw attempts.
• Tulane owned scoring advantages in the paint, 40-28, off turnovers, 21-13, on the fast break, 8-0, and off the bench, 22-18.
SCOUTING THE RAMS
• Colorado State enters Friday's game with a 2-0 record after consecutive homes wins to start the season, including a 72-61 season-opening victory over Sacramento State and an 80-76 triumph against Winthrop on Monday night.
• Against Winthrop, the Rams trailed by seven points at halftime and as many as 14 in the second half, but used 48 points in the final 20 minutes, a 51-28 rebounding edge and a 36-18 scoring advantage in the paint to complete the comeback.
• Five Colorado State players scored in double-figures, led by Prentiss Nixon's 16 points, five rebounds and six assists. Nico Carvacho registered a double-double with 11 points and 20 rebounds to complement three assists and three steals.
REYNOLDS CHASING 1,000 POINTS
• Redshirt senior Cameron Reynolds has scored 940 career points and needs just 60 more to become the 36th player in program history to eclipse 1,000.Â
• The last Tulane player to reach that number was Louis Dabney in 2015-16, who finished with 1,471 points which ranks No. 9 in program history.
DOUBLE-FIGURE SCORING STREAK
• Cameron Reynolds has scored double-digit points in 20-straight games dating back to the 2016-17 season - the longest streak of his career. He reached double-figure points on 27 different occasions last season despite doing so just 10 times in his first two-plus seasons.
