NEW ORLEANS – The Junkanoo Jam continues on Saturday afternoon for the Tulane women's basketball team. The Green Wave will play one final game in their tropical setting against San Diego State at 3:15 p.m. central time before returning stateside for the rest of the season.

Tulane was defeated by Iowa State on Friday and San Diego State lost to Central Michigan, setting up the teams' meeting on Saturday in the consolation bracket.
Games in the Bahamas will be broadcast back in New Orleans on WRBH 88.3 FM, and live streaming video can be seen through FloHoops.com with a subscription purchase.

STARTING FIVE
- Tulane suffered its third loss of the season on Friday, falling 67-64 to Big 12 Conference foe Iowa State. In all three of its losses this year, the Green Wave were either tied or within 1 point of its opponent with four minutes leftin the game or less.
- Kolby Morgan scored 17 points for the Green Wave on Friday and moved up to fifth all-time in team history in scoring with 1,741 points. She surpassed her high school coach and former Green Wave player, Barbara Farris.
- Kayla Manuirirangi had the best game of her career on Friday, scoring 19 points and tying her career high with six assists. She also played a career-best 38 minutes.
- Saturday will be Tulane's fifth game away from home out of six on the season. Tulane opens the year with seven of its first eight games on the road before playing five straight at home.
- Tulane ended the 2016-17 season with an 18-15 record and reached the third round of the Women's NIT, tying a program record for advancement in that tournament. Tulane finished last year ranking No. 74 in the nation in RPI, and the team reached the national postseason for the eighth straight year.
SERIES HISTORY – SAN DIEGO STATE
- Tulane and San Diego State have never met. Saturday will be the first ever meeting between the teams.
- Against current Mountain West teams, Tulane holds a 3-1 record. The Green Wave are 2-1 against Colorado State and 1-0 against UNLV.
SCOUTING THE AZTECS
- The Aztecs are 3-1 on the season with victories against Presbyterian, Cal State Northridge and Cal State Fullerton. Their lone loss came on Friday in overtime against Central Michigan.
- Leading the way on offense for San Diego State is McKynzie Fort who averages 17.5 points per game. Lexy Thorderson scores 11.8 while Naje Murray averages 10.5 points per game. On the boards, Khalia Lark leads the way with 6.8 rebounds per game.
- Last season, the Aztecs went 11-19 and 6-12 in the Mountain West. Their season ended in the opening round of the Mountain West Tournament.
SURPASSING HER COACH
With a free throw early in the second quarter, Kolby Morgan moved up to fifth all-time in Tulane history in scoring against Iowa State on Friday. Morgan's free throw got her to 1,730 points, putting her ahead of Barbara Farris on the Green Wave's all-time list. Farris, with 1,729 points, was Morgan's high school basketball coach at John Curtis Christian. Morgan now needs 82 points to take over fourth place all-time in team history, a number she could reach in 4-5 games at her current pace.

MANU'S BIG DAY
Sophomore guard Kayla Manuirirangi had the best game of her career on Friday against Iowa State, scoring a career high 19 points, making a career-best six shots, knocking down four free throws and playing a career-best 38 minutes. She also tied career highs with three 3-pointers, four rebounds, six assists and one steal.
BLOCK PARTY
Junior Tene Thompson tied for the best blocking game of her career against Iowa State on Friday, recording three blocks. Thompson is now one block behind Harlyn Wyatt for the team lead this season of seven blocks.
ANDERSON FINDS HER STROKE
Freshman Kaila Anderson topped her previous career high with 9 points against Iowa State. All 9 of those points came on three 3-pointers. Anderson had previously scored 8 points at Southern Miss.

DOUBLE FIGURES ON THE BOARDS
Harlyn Wyatt had Tulane's first double-digit rebounding game of the season on Friday against Iowa State. The junior pulled down 10 rebounds – including five on the offensive glass – to lead the way for the Green Wave and tie for the game high. Wyatt's career high in rebounding is 11.

ROAD WARRIORS
The Green Wave's two games in the Junkanoo Jam will be their fourth and fifth road games of the season. Seven of the Green Wave's first eight games of the year are being played on the road before five consecutive home games in December.

SHE'S NUMBER FIVE
Tulane senior guard Kolby Morgan finds herself near the top of the nation's active career scorers list. With 1,741 points in her career, Morgan is the fifth-highest scoring active player in the nation. Ohio State's Kelsey Mitchell tops the list at 2,657 points, Michigan's Katelynn Faherty is second at 2,091 points, Mississippi State's Victoria Vivians is third with 1,795 points, South Carolina's A'ja Wilson is fourth with 1,758 and Morgan is next in line.

CAREER NUMBERS WATCH
Against Iowa State:
- Kolby Morgan moved up to fifth all-time in scoring at Tulane and got to 200 career assists.
- Ksenija Madzarevic got her 50th rebound.
- Harlyn Wyatt got to 100 offensive reboeunds.
- Tene Thompson recorded her 200th career point.
- Kolby Morgan will 200 made 3-pointers with two more. She is also two blocks away from 50.
- Meredith Schulte needs eight more defensive boards for 200.
NEXT UP
Tulane returns to the Bayou State next weekend but does not get to play a home game. Instead, the Green Wave will travel to McNeese State for a Wednesday contest against the Cowgirls that will begin at 7 p.m. in Lake Charles.
