NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane men's basketball team will begin the month of February with its fourth road game in its last six contests when it begins its home-and-home regular-season series with East Carolina on Saturday, Feb. 4 in Greenville, N.C. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. (CT) at Williams Arena in Minges Coliseum.

Â
TULANE QUICK NOTES
• Redshirt junior Cameron Reynolds ranks sixth in The American in scoring (16.0), sixth in three-point field goals made (48), eighth in minutes (34.5) and 12th in free throw percentage (.768).
• Sophomore Melvin Frazier is third in the league in steals per game (1.7) and senior Ryan Smith is sixth in field goal percentage (.519) and tied for eighth in blocks per game (1.4).
Â
THE OPPONENT
• East Carolina (10-13, 2-8 AAC) enters Saturday's contest with a 9-4 record on its home floor this season, despite coming off back-to-back road losses at Memphis and SMU while dropping eight of its last 10 games.
• The Pirates are third in the conference behind UCF and Cincinnati in field goal percentage defense (.382), but that number ranks eighth in the country, while their scoring defense (63.6) stands 26th nationally. ECU is fourth in the league in total blocks (120) - a total that lands them in the No. 20 spot on the NCAA ledger - but its scoring offense (61.1) field goal (.387) and three-point field goal percentages (.284) are last in The American.
• Center Andre Washington's 64 blocks not only lead the conference, but rank sixth among all Division I players. He's eighth in the league in rebounding (7.4). East Carolina has been without its leading scorer, B.J. Tyson, for five games after sustaining a leg injury in a 74-58 home loss to Houston on Jan. 11. Tyson is averaging 11.9 points per game this year.
Â
THE SERIES
• Saturday's matchup marks the 21st all-time meeting between the Green Wave and Pirates, as Tulane owns a 12-8 lead in the series.
• The programs faced off as Conference USA foes for 12 seasons before transitioning into the American Athletic Conference starting with the 2014-15 campaign.
• Tulane has won three of the last four matchups against ECU, all of which have come inside Minges Coliseum in Greenville. Last season, the Green Wave escaped with a 100-92 triple-overtime triumph on Feb. 10, 2016 despite leading just 14 seconds in regulation, early in the first half, and not pulling back in front again until the second overtime. The victory was the olive and blue's first in program history for a game that went three or more overtimes.
Â
LAST TIME OUT
• Cameron Reynolds scored 18 of his career-high 29 points in the second-half, but the Tulane men's basketball team suffered a 79-71 home defeat to Temple on Tuesday night.
• Reynolds shot 11-for-22 overall and tied for a game-high with nine rebounds, while Ryan Smith compiled 11 points, six boards and three assists. Malik Morgan added 10 points, as Sammis Reyes contributed a personal-best nine points and seven rebounds off the bench.
• Temple (12-11, 3-7 AAC) placed four scorers in double-figures, led by Quinton Rose's 18 points and nine rebounds off the bench.
• The Green Wave outscored Temple, 34-22, in the paint, 15-11 off turnovers and 20-13 on second chances while owning a 36-33 margin on the glass, but Temple scored 31 points off the bench to the Wave's 14.
