Baseball Series vs. USF Restored to Original Friday through Sunday Format
Mar 31, 2017 | Baseball
NEW ORLEANS – As a result of changes in the weather forecast for Sunday, the Tulane vs. USF baseball series will be played in the original Friday through Sunday format. Game times are 6:30 p.m. Friday, 4 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
On Thursday, the university Office of Emergency Management advised that the New Orleans area could expect a significant weather event on Sunday, resulting in the decision to play a doubleheader on Saturday. With the change in the weather forecast for Sunday, the teams will play the third game of the series on Sunday as originally scheduled.
"We will always err on the side of caution, particularly as it relates to the welfare of our student-athletes," said Tulane Senior Associate Athletic Director Rob Bernardi. "We made the decision to play a doubleheader based on information we received from the university, and now that the weather forecast has changed, we have adjusted accordingly. On behalf of Tulane Athletics, we apologize for any inconvenience that may have been created."
Although the series format was restored to the original schedule, the pregame tailgate originally planned for Saturday remains canceled.
Tulane and USF are playing their first American Athletic Conference series of the season. Friday's game begins at 6:30 p.m. at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
