NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane women's basketball team is back home for a nationally televised game on Sunday against Tulsa, a game that will be both teams' first rematch of the season.
Tulane and Tulsa faced off just over two weeks ago in Oklahoma – a Tulane victory – and the Green Wave will be seeking the season sweep of the Golden Hurricane on Sunday.
Tulane fans can watch Sunday's game live on ESPNU. The game will also be broadcast on the radio in New Orleans on WRBH 88.3 FM with Gus Kattengell on the call.
STARTING FIVE
1.   Tulane staged a late rally at UCF on Wednesday night, outscoring the Knights 21-12 in the fourth quarter. But time ran out on Tulane as the Green Wave fell 59-51 in Orlando.
2.   Kayla Manuirirangi was the team's leading scorer with 12 points including three made 3-pointers. Manuirirangi led the team in scoring for just the second time all year.
3.   Tulane scored 24 points off UCF turnovers on Wednesday, tying for the third-most points off turnovers in a single game this year. The Knights had 20 turnovers and the Green Wave had nine steals.
4.   Senior Kolby Morgan scored her 2,000th career point on January 13 against Wichita State, becoming just the third player in team history to reach that milestone. Morgan is now just 68 points away from second all-time in Tulane history and 247 points away from the school record for career scoring.
5.   Since joining the AAC for the 2014-15 season, the Green Wave holds a 30-27 record in conference play. Tulane has finished fifth in the league standings during all three of its seasons. Sunday's game will be Tulane's first rematch of the year after it defeated Tulsa on January 3.

   Â
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN HURRICANE

•   Their league wins came against Wichita State and Cincinnati while their losses came against ECU, Memphis, UConn and Tulane.
•   Shug Dickson is the team's top scorer at 13.3 points per game. Erika Wakefield is also in double figures with 10.2 points per game. Rebounding, Kendrian Elliott tops the team at 7.5 boards per game.
TULANE IN THE AAC
Since joining the AAC for the 2014-15 season, the Green Wave holds a 30-27 record in conference play. Tulane has finished fifth in the league standings during all three of its seasons. This is Tulane's fourth season in the league after spending the previous 19 seasons in Conference USA.
LSWA PLAYER OF THE WEEK AGAIN
For the fourth time this year, the Louisiana Sports Writer's Association recognized Kolby Morgan for her tremendous play on January 16. Morgan was named the LSWA's Player of the Week for the second consecutive week and third time this year. Morgan earned the organization's Player of the Week award on December 27 and January 9 and its Player of the Month award for her stellar play in November.
MANU IN DOUBLE FIGURES
Kayla Manuirirangi was the team's leading scorer with 12 points including three made 3-pointers on Wednesday night at UCF. Manuirirangi led the team in scoring for just the second time all year, the other time being her 19-point effort against Iowa State in the Bahamas in November. Manuirirangi also earned her 200th career point against UCF on Wednesday.
LATE RUN AT UCF
Tulane outscored UCF 21-12 in the fourth quarter, but it dug itself too big of a hole in the first three quarters to overcome the deficit. In the fourth quarter, Tulane went on an 11-1 run late to cut the UCF lead to just 56-51 with 48 seconds left. But time ran out on the Green Wave, and UCF made three free throws in the final 48 seconds while Tulane missed its final two shots.
POINTS OFF TURNOVERS
Tulane scored 24 points off UCF turnovers on Wednesday, tying for the third-most points off turnovers in a single game this year. The Knights had 20 turnovers and the Green Wave had nine steals. Tulane's best points-off-turnovers effort came against San Diego State in November when it scored 28 points off turnovers.
2,000 POINTS REACHED
Senior Kolby Morgan reached a rare milestone on January 13 against Wichita State, recording her 2,000th career point. Morgan had 15 points in the first quarter and 26 in the game, easily bettering the 14 she needed entering the game to reach 2,000. Morgan is just the third player in Tulane history with 2,000 career points and is one of seven active players in the nation with 2,000 career points.
SHE'S NUMBER SIX
Tulane senior guard Kolby Morgan finds herself near the top of the nation's active career scorers list. With 2,023 points in her career as of Thursday morning, Morgan is the sixth-highest scoring active player in the nation.
Morgan is also 10th in the nation among active players in field goal attempts, 11th in field goals made, 15th in points per game, 19th in steals and 20th in 3-pointers made.
WHERE MORGAN RANKS THIS YEAR
Morgan is already having a stellar year for Tulane, ranking in the top 50 in the nation in multiple categories. As of Thursday morning, Morgan is 13th in the country in total points with 389, 13th in points per game at 21.6, 33rd in 3-pointers made with 51, 32nd in made field goals with 130 and 29th in field goal attempts with 291.
MORGAN CHASING A RECORD
Senior guard Kolby Morgan has many talents as a basketball player, but she is best known for her scoring ability. Morgan is now just 236 points shy of the Tulane scoring record held by Grace Daley. If Tulane plays 13 more games on the year, Morgan would break the program record by averaging 18.2 points per game. If Tulane plays 15 more games this year – the same as it did in 2016-17 – Morgan could break the program record with 15.7 points per game. As a junior, she scored 19.7 points per game. She is averaging 21.6 points per game this year.
