Women's Hoops Seeking Road Win in Houston on Wednesday
Jan 30, 2018 | Women's Basketball
NEW ORLEANS – It's rematch time in Houston this week, as the Tulane women's basketball team will look to avenge an overtime home loss against the Cougars earlier this year when the teams meet against at H&PE Arena on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
For visiting fans traveling to the game, note that the contest will be played at Texas Southern University's H&PE Arena, not at the University of Houston's campus due to arena remodeling. The two universities are adjacent.
The game will be watchable online through Houston's website and also broadcast on the radio in New Orleans on WRBH 88.3 FM with Gus Kattengell on the call.
STARTING FIVE
1.   Tulane outscored No. 1 UConn in the final five minutes 13-4, but the Huskies' lead was too great to overcome in a 98-45 Green Wave loss on Saturday in Connecticut.
2.   Kayla Manuirirangi was Tulane's leading scorer at UConn, putting up 13 points that included three 3-pointers. Manuirirangi was named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll for the first time due to her efforts at UConn.
3.   Kolby Morgan broke the program record for games started on Saturday, being introduced as part of the starting lineup for the 120th time.
4.   Morgan needs just 19 points to take over sole possession of second all-time in Tulane scoring with 2,081 points. Morgan began the year sixth in scoring at Tulane.
5.   Since joining the AAC for the 2014-15 season, the Green Wave holds a 32-28 record in conference play. Tulane has finished fifth in the league standings during all three of its seasons. Tulane is 28-14 lifetime against Houston but lost to the Cougars at home earlier this year.
