NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane men's basketball team plays against its second nationally-ranked opponent of the season and first since meeting 13th-ranked North Carolina on Dec. 3 when it makes the trip to No. 13/12 Wichita State on Wednesday night.
Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. (CT) at Charles Koch Arena, and the game will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network. Andrew Catalon will call play-by-play action, while Steve Lappas provides color commentary.
HISTORY LESSON
• Wednesday's meeting between the Green Wave and Shockers will be the first all-time, and just the third game played by the Wave in the state of Kansas in program history. The last was a Jan. 10, 1976 trip to Manhattan against Kansas State and the first coming on Dec. 11, 1952 in Lawrence.
• Wichita State is the third team that Tulane plays for the first time in program history this season, joining LIU Brooklyn (Nov. 11) and Colorado State (Nov. 17).
LAST TIME OUT
• Tulane placed four scorers in double-figures and outscored Memphis in the second half, but was unable to pull through in a 68-63 American Athletic Conference home loss on Saturday afternoon.
• Jordan Cornish and Melvin Frazier led Tulane with 16 points apiece, while Caleb Daniels added 13 points off the bench. Cameron Reynolds chipped in 12 points, while Cornish shot 6-for-12 from the field and made four 3-pointers.
• The conference's leading scorer, Jeremiah Martin led all players with 22 points and four steals, as Mike Parks, Jr. added 15 points and six rebounds for the Tigers (16-11, 7-7 AAC).
• The Green Wave finished the night shooting 19-for-49 (.388) overall, 8-for-22 (.364) from 3-point land and 17-for-20 (.850) at the free throw line, while the Tigers went 25-for-46 (.543) from the field, 6-for-16 (.375) from deep and 12-for-15 (.750) at the foul stripe, while owning a 30-25 rebounding margin.
• Memphis owned a 28-18 scoring advantage in the paint, despite being outscored, 16-9, off turnovers, 10-9 on second chances and 19-7 off the bench.
SCOUTING THE SHOCKERS
• In its first season as a member of the American Athletic Conference, Wichita State sits in a tie for second place in the standings with Houston and just one game behind Cincinnati for first.
• The Shockers lead the league in scoring (83.8), field goal percentage (.483), 3-point field goal percentage (.390), rebounding (41.0), rebounding margin (+10.2), assists (19.0), assist/turnover ratio (1.6), and 3-pointers made per game (9.4), while ranking second in scoring margin (+13.5) and free throw percentage (.736).
• Nationally, their rebounding margin is the third best, while their assist/turnover ratio ranks sixth nationally. Wichita is also seventh in the country in assists per game and rebounding
• Redshirt sophomore guard Landry Shamet leads The American in assists per game (5.2) and assist/turnover ratio (2.5) and stands fourth in free throw percentage (.829) and 3-point field goal percentage (.453). Redshirt senior Shaquille Morris leads the league in blocked shots (42) and is third in field goal percentage (.561), while sophomore Austin Reaves is second in the league in 3-point field goal percentage (.466). Senior Rashard Kelly is the No. 4 rebounder in the AAC at 7.5 per contest.
• When Cameron Reynolds appears in Wednesday's game at Wichita State, it will be his 131st appearance for the Green Wave, tying Louis Dabney (2013-16) for the most in program history:

REYNOLDS AGAINST RANKED FOES
• Cameron Reynolds has played some of his best basketball against Tulane's toughest opponents over the last two seasons, averaging 19.8 points per game against five teams ranked in the AP Top 25 poll.Â
• This season, Reynolds scored 18 points with five rebounds and four assists at 13th-ranked North Carolina on Dec. 3.
• In 2016-17, Reynolds scored 21 points against No. 6 North Carolina, 17 points at No. 23 Cincinnati, 20 points against the 20th-ranked Bearcats and 23 points at 19th-ranked SMU.
• In those five contests, he has shot an impressive 50 percent (37-for-74) from the field and 15-for-28 (.536) beyond the 3-point arc.Â
• Melvin Frazier (15.9 PPG) and Cameron Reynolds (15.7 PPG) rank as the No. 3 scoring duo in the American Athletic Conference this season. Frazier ranks fifth among all players in the league, while Reynolds is sixth:

MAN OF STEALS
• Melvin Frazier ranks second in the American Athletic Conference in steals (57) and steals per game (2.3), and has at least three heists in 12 contests this season.
• As a sophomore, Frazier finished the 2016-17 regular season No. 1 in the American Athletic Conference in steals per game (1.9), while his 55 takeaways ranked second overall.
FRAZIER, SEHIC AAC'S 1-2 FG PERCENTANGE UNIT
• Samir Sehic and Melvin Frazier own the No. 1 and No. 2 field goal percentages among all players in the American Athletic Conference this season.
• Sehic is shooting 57.7 percent from the floor off the bench, while Frazier is at 57.4 percent as the team's leading scorer.
FIVE AVERAGING DOUBLE-DIGIT POINTS
• As of February 19, Tulane is one of just 24 teams in NCAA Division I men's basketball, and one of just two in the American Athletic Conference, with at least five active players averaging double-digit points per game.
• Melvin Frazier (15.9), Cameron Reynolds (15.7), Samir Sehic (10.4), Jordan Cornish (10.3) and Ray Ona Embo (10.1) are responsible for 83.9 percent of the Green Wave's scoring.
• SMU is the only other team in the conference with at least five, and in fact, is one of just three teams nationally along with Villanova and Gonzaga with six players averaging at least 10 points per game..
MARDI GRAS UNIFORMS
• The Green Wave wore Mardi Gras uniforms to celebrate Carnival season for the first time in program history for four games ahead of Fat Tuesday, beginning Jan. 31 at ECU and ending Feb. 11 at Houston.
• Tulane auctioned off 10 of the jerseys on its website over a period of seven days ending February 13, as profits will be reinvested into the program and Tulane Athletics.
