STARTING FIVE
1.   Tulane fell behind in the second quarter and nearly dug itself out of a hole against Memphis on Sunday, but the Tigers held on for a 73-60 win at Elma Roane Fieldhouse.
2.   Kolby Morgan led Tulane with 14 points at Memphis and broke 500 points for the season. She is the second player ever at Tulane with three 500-points seasons in her career.
3.   Meredith Schulte has scored in double figures for three consecutive games now after a 12-point showing at Memphis. Her season-long double-figure streak is four games.
4.   Tulane nearly pulled off an upset of UConn last year when the Huskies were in the middle of a 101-game winning streak, narrowly losing to UConn 63-60 in New Orleans in February.
5.   Since joining the AAC for the 2014-15 season, the Green Wave holds a 33-32 record in conference play. Tulane has finished fifth in the league standings during all three of its seasons. Tulane is 0-8 all-time against UConn including a 98-45 loss earlier this year.
  Â
SERIES HISTORY – UCONN
•   The Green Wave and Huskies have faced off eight times since Tulane joined the AAC in 2014-15, and UConn has swept Tulane in all of those meetings.
•   UConn's average margin of victory in the series is 42.5 points.
•   When the teams met in January, UConn defeated the Green Wave 98-45 in Connecticut behind a 72 percent shooting effort from the field.
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
•   The Huskies, based in Storrs, Connecticut, are the nation's No. 1 team with an undefeated record of 26-0 overall and 13-0 in the American Athletic Conference.
•   The Huskies, who have won 11 national championships, are led in scoring this year by Katie Lou Samuelson's 18.0 points per game. Napheesa Collier (15.7 ppg), Kia Nurse (14.8), Azura Stevens (14.2), Gabby Williams (10.6) and Crystal Dangerfield (10.5) are all also averaging double-figure scoring.
•   Williams is the top rebounder with 8.0 boards per game.
•   Before Saturday's win, UConn ranked first in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio, field goal percentage, scoring margin and scoring offense.
TULANE IN THE AAC
Since joining the AAC for the 2014-15 season, the Green Wave holds a 33-32 record in conference play. Tulane has finished fifth in the league standings during all three of its seasons. This is Tulane's fourth season in the league after spending the previous 19 seasons in Conference USA.
NEAR UPSET OF UCONN
Last season's meeting between UConn and Tulane in New Orleans was one of Tulane's best games of the season, as the Green Wave nearly pulled off an upset of the nation's top team. UConn would win the game 63-60, but the Green Wave had a shot at the buzzer to tie the game that just missed.
UConn was in the middle of a 101-game winning streak at the time and had not lost in three years. UConn's victory was its second-narrowest of its winning streak at the time and is still the closest any AAC team has gotten to defeating the Huskies in the history of the league.
THREE IN A ROW FOR SCHULTE
For the third consecutive game, Meredith Schulte broke double figures when she put up 12 points at Memphis on Sunday. Schulte nearly set a season high with six field goals, coming one short of her previous best of seven. The junior is now third on the roster with 8.0 points per game and has reached double-figure scoring in 12 games this year.
500 POINTS IN A YEAR
With her 14-point effort at Memphis on Sunday, Kolby Morgan eclipsed the 500 point mark in a season for her third consecutive year. More, already No. 2 in Tulane's all-time scoring list, is one of just two players with three seasons of 500 points or more in Tulane history. The other is all-time leading scorer Grace Daley. No player in team history has three seasons of 600 or more points.
RAMPANT THIEVERY
Tulane set a new season high for steals on Sunday at Memphis, picking up 16 steals while effectively utilizing a half-court trap. The Green Wave scored 16 points off Memphis' 23 turnovers. Tulane's previous season high for steals was 12, a number the team had reached three times this year.
ACCURATE SHOOTER
With a 53.8 percent field goal percentage this year, Meredith Schulte ranks near the top of the American Athletic Conference. Schulte, who has made 86 of her 160 field goal attempts this year, is eighth in the league in that shooting percentage and third among non-UConn players.
SECOND-BEST SCORER EVER AT TULANE
Entering the February 3 game against USF, Kolby Morgan needed just three points to move up to second place all-time in team history. She scored those points in the first quarter, officially passing Stacey Gaudet and her 2,080 career points. Morgan now has 2,139 points, 120 away from the school record held by Grace Daley.
If Tulane plays only four more games on the year, Morgan would break the program record by averaging 30.3 points per game. If Tulane plays seven more games this year – the same as it did in 2016-17 – Morgan could break the program record with 17.3 points per game. She is averaging 19.4 points per game this year.
BREAKING THE FIELD GOAL ATTEMPT RECORD
Besides setting her sights on the Tulane points record, Morgan is now the record holder for two other Tulane marks. She broke the program's all-time starts record in late January, and on Saturday at Cincinnati became Tulane's all-time leader in field goals attempted. Morgan has now attempted 1,745 field goals, surpassing the 1,723 taken by Stacey Gaudet.
EIGHTH IN THE NATION
Tulane senior guard Kolby Morgan finds herself near the top of the nation's active career scorers list. With 2,139 points in her career as of Monday morning, Morgan is the eighth-highest scoring active player in the nation.
Morgan is also 10th in the nation among active players in field goal attempts, 12th in field goals made, 23rd in steals and 23rd in free throws made.
WHERE MORGAN RANKS THIS YEAR
Morgan is having a stellar year for Tulane, ranking in the top 50 in the nation in multiple categories. As of Monday morning, Morgan is 45th in the country in total points with 505, 42nd in points per game at 19.4, 48th in free throw attempts with 148 and 42nd in field goal attempts with 415.
SHE CAN PASS, TOO
Kolby Morgan is known for her scoring, but the senior has been on quite a run of passing lately. Morgan is averaging 3.8 assists per game during conference play, leading Tulane in that category against AAC foes. Morgan has had at least five assists in five league games including nine against Houston on January 6. In conference-only games, her 3.8 assists per game puts her eighth in the league.
OUTREBOUNDING = OUTSCORING
The Green Wave are now 8-3 this season when outrebounding opponents and 3-11 when the opponent grabs more rebounds. In victories, Tulane has combined for a +49 rebounding margin. In losses, the Green Wave are a combined -138.
