TAMPA, Fla. - The Tulane men's basketball team plays its final game of the month with an American Athletic Conference matchup on Saturday, February 24 at USF.
Tipoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. (CT) at the Sun Dome, and the game will be televised nationally on ESPNU with streaming on the WatchESPN app. Roy Philpott will call play-by-play action, while Mark Wise provides color commentary.
HISTORY LESSON
• Saturday's meeting between the Green Wave and Bulls will be the 35th all-time, as Tulane leads the series, 20-14, including wins in two of the last three and three of the last five matchups.
• When the teams last met in New Orleans on Jan. 25, Tulane trailed by 23 points with seven minutes remaining, and despite a furious rally that saw the Green Wave cut the deficit to just three points, they suffered an 80-75 defeat.
• Samir Sehic scored a career-high 23 points off the bench on 8-for-11 shooting, including 4-for-5 from outside to go with seven rebounds.
• USF was led by Stephan Jiggetts' 23 points and five assists, as Terrance Samuel (16 points and 12 rebounds) and Payton Banks (14 points and 10 rebounds) produced double-doubles.
LAST TIME OUT
• Playing its first game in the state of Kansas in 42 years, Tulane scored 55 second half points and shot 62 percent from the field in the final 20 minutes, but its upset bid fell short, 93-86, at No. 13/12 Wichita State on Wednesday night.
• Melvin Frazier led five Green Wave scorers in double-figures with his fourth double-double of the season comprising 22 points and 11 rebounds while shooting 10-for-19 from the field. He scored all of his points in the second half.
• Samir Sehic added 16 points and six rebounds off the bench, while Cameron Reynolds chipped in 14 points. Ray Ona Embo scored 12 points and handed out a team-high five assists, as Caleb Daniels contributed 11 points off the bench, reaching double digits for the third game in a row and fourth in the last five.
• Tulane made 10-plus 3-pointers for the eighth time this season with 11, while the five scorers in double-figures occurred for the ninth time.
• Shaquille Morris led all players with 25 points and nine rebounds, as Conner Frankamp tallied 18 points, four assists and three steals while starting for Landry Shamet who missed the game with an illness. Markis McDuffie had 15 points and made three 3-pointers off the bench for the Shockers (22-5, 12-3 AAC).
• The Green Wave finished the night shooting 31-for-62 (.500) overall, 11-for-19 (.579) from 3-point land and 13-for-16 (.813) at the free throw line, while the Shockers went 31-for-63 (.492) from the field, 9-for-20 (.450) beyond the arc and 22-for-31 (.710) at the charity stripe.
SCOUTING THE BULLS
• USF currently ranks last in the American Athletic Conference standings, and is 12th in scoring offense (62.2), scoring margin (-9.1), field goal percentage (.411), field goal percentage defense (.449), rebounding (33.0) and turnover margin (-3.3).
• Terrence Samuel (.821) and Stephon Jiggetts (.805) rank sixth and eighth, respectively, in the conference in free throw percentage., while Jiggetts is also seventh in 3-point field goal percentage (.400).
• When Cameron Reynolds appears in Saturday's game at USF, it will be his 132nd appearance for the Green Wave, passing Louis Dabney (2013-16) for the most in program history:

FRAZIER, REYNOLDS AMONG THE AMERICAN'S TOP SCORING TANDEMS
• Melvin Frazier (16.2 PPG) and Cameron Reynolds (15.7 PPG) rank as the No. 2 scoring duo in the American Athletic Conference this season. Frazier ranks fifth among all players in the league, while Reynolds is sixth:

MAN OF STEALS
• Melvin Frazier ranks second in the American Athletic Conference in steals (58) and steals per game (2.2), and has at least three heists in 12 contests this season.
• As a sophomore, Frazier finished the 2016-17 regular season No. 1 in the American Athletic Conference in steals per game (1.9), while his 55 takeaways ranked second overall.
FRAZIER, SEHIC AAC'S 1-2 FG PERCENTANGE UNIT
• Samir Sehic and Melvin Frazier own the No. 1 and No. 2 field goal percentages among all players in the American Athletic Conference this season.
• Sehic is shooting 57.9 percent from the floor off the bench, while Frazier is at 57 percent as the team's leading scorer.
FIVE AVERAGING DOUBLE-DIGIT POINTS
• As of February 22, Tulane is one of just 24 teams in NCAA Division I men's basketball, and one of just two in the American Athletic Conference, with at least five active players averaging double-digit points per game.
• Melvin Frazier (16.2), Cameron Reynolds (15.7), Samir Sehic (10.6), Jordan Cornish (10.2) and Ray Ona Embo (10.2) are responsible for 84.3 percent of the Green Wave's scoring.
• SMU is the only other team in the conference with at least five, and in fact, is one of just three teams nationally along with Villanova and Gonzaga with six players averaging at least 10 points per game.
MARDI GRAS UNIFORMS
• The Green Wave wore Mardi Gras uniforms to celebrate Carnival season for the first time in program history for four games ahead of Fat Tuesday, beginning Jan. 31 at ECU and ending Feb. 11 at Houston.
• Tulane auctioned off 10 of the jerseys on its website over a period of seven days ending February 13, as profits will be reinvested into the program and Tulane Athletics.
