NEW ORLEANS – It's tournament time in Connecticut.
The No. 9 Tulane women's basketball team will look to start a run through the American Athletic Conference Tournament on Saturday when it faces No. 8 Memphis. Tipoff at Mohegan Sun Arena is scheduled for 5 p.m. central with the winner moving on to the quarterfinals to face No. 1 UConn on Sunday at 5:30 p.m.
Saturday's game will be televised live on ESPN3 with Eric Frede and Christy Thomaskutty on the call. The game will also be broadcast on the radio in New Orleans on WRBH 88.3 FM with Gus Kattengell providing commentary.
STARTING FIVE
1.   Tulane had a huge fourth-quarter comeback on Monday to defeat SMU 52-46 at home and earn the No. 9 seed in the AAC Tournament.
2.   In Monday's win, seniors Kolby Morgan and Caylah Cruickshank scored 23 of Tulane's 25 fourth-quarter points to help the team win on Senior Night. Morgan scored 16 points in the fourth quarter.
3.   During her big fourth quarter on Monday, Kolby Morgan became Tulane's all-time leader in field goals made with 759, surpassing Stacey Gaudet's 757.
4.   Morgan has been quite the thief lately, recording six steals in each of the last two games to tie her career high.
5.   Since joining the AAC for the 2014-15 season, the Green Wave holds a 34-34 record in conference play. Tulane finished fifth in the league standings in its first three seasons and was ninth this year.

SERIES HISTORY – MEMPHIS
•   Tulane and Memphis have a longstanding rivalry that dates back to 1979. The teams have played 45 contests since then with Memphis holding a 27-19 edge.
•   In recent years in the rivalry, the series has been fairly even. Tulane has won seven of the 12 games since 2009, but Memphis won both contests last year and is on a three-game winning streak against Tulane.
•   When the teams squared off on February 18, Memphis earned a 73-60 victory despite only being able to play five players. Kolby Morgan had 14 points and Meredith Schulte had 12 in the loss.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
•   The Tigers, based in Memphis, Tennessee, hold a 10-18 record so far this year and finished 5-11 in the American Athletic Conference. Memphis earned the league's No. 8 seed by virtue of its head-to-head tiebreaker win against Tulane on February 18.
•   The Tigers are currently on a eight-game losing streak dating back to January 17.
•   Brea Elmore is the team's top scorer with 15.3 points per game. She is trailed closely by Cheyenne Creighton's 14.4 points per game.
•   Creighton is the team's top rebounder with 8.2 boards per game. Elmore has a team-high 103 assists. Alana Davis is the conference's reigning Freshman of the Week.
TULANE IN THE AAC
Since joining the AAC for the 2014-15 season, the Green Wave holds a 34-34 record in conference play. Tulane finished fifth in the league standings during its first three seasons and ninth this year. This is Tulane's fourth season in the league after spending the previous 19 seasons in Conference USA.
TULANE IN THE AAC TOURNAMENT
Now in its fourth year in the league, Tulane has a 3-3 record in the American Athletic Conference Tournament. The team went 2-1 in 2015, defeating Houston and Tulsa before falling to USF. In 2016, Tulane defeated Memphis in the opening round before falling in the semifinals to UConn. And last year, Tulane lost its quarterfinal game against No. 4 seed UCF.

Entering the game needing just six made field goals to break another Tulane record, Kolby Morgan made seven shots against SMU on Monday. Morgan now sits at 759 career made field goals, surpassing Stacey Gaudet's 757 career made field goals to become Tulane's all-time leader in the category.
SENIORS STEP UP
With Tulane trailing by 10 points entering the fourth quarter, the team's seniors took over on Monday against SMU. Kolby Morgan and Caylah Cruickshank scored Tulane's first 13 points of the quarter as part of a 14-0 run, and Cruickshank hit a 3-pointer that would put Tulane ahead for good. Morgan erupted for 16 points in the fourth quarter to give Tulane the Senior Night win. Morgan and Cruickshank scored 23 of Tulane's 25 fourth-quarter points.
STRONG FOURTH QUARTER DEFENSE
Tulane managed to outscore SMU 25-9 in the fourth quarter thanks to a strong offensive performance from its seniors, but it all started on the defensive end. SMU made just 3 of its 15 field goal attempts in the quarter, its lowest shooting percentage of any quarter in the game. Tulane also forced five SMU turnovers in the period thanks to utilizing a pressure defense, and Tulane out-assisted SMU 3-0 in the fourth.
MORGAN THE THIEF
In each of Tulane's last two games, Kolby Morgan tied her career high with six steals. That gave the senior 40 total steals in AAC play, moving her up to a tie for fourth in the conference with 2.5 steals per conference game. Morgan has 258 steals in her Tulane career, the fourth-most in team history.
IT'S AN HONOR
Kolby Morgan has made herself at home on the American Athletic Conference's weekly Honor Roll, as the senior has been placed on the list seven times this season. The most recent honor for Morgan came on Tuesday after a week with three double-digit scoring efforts against UConn, Wichita State and SMU With this year's seven Honor Roll appearances combined with 16 others in her career, Morgan has now been named an AAC Honor Roll recipient 23 times.
SEVENTH IN THE NATION
Tulane senior guard Kolby Morgan finds herself near the top of the nation's active career scorers list. With 2,192 points in her career as of Wednesday, Morgan is the seventh-highest scoring active player in the nation.
Morgan is also 10th in the nation among active players in field goal attempts, 12th in field goals made, 17th in steals and 16th in free throws made.
WHERE MORGAN RANKS THIS YEAR
Morgan is having a stellar year for Tulane, ranking in the top 50 in the nation in multiple categories. As of Wednesday, Morgan is 39th in the country in total points with 558, 45th in points per game at 19.2, 38th in free throw attempts with 169 and 37th in field goal attempts with 456.
