NEW ORLEANS - Tulane track and field heads to the Southeastern Track Complex in Hammond, Louisiana, on Friday for the Southeastern Strawberry Relays, where it will compete against a number of the state's top programs.

The meet opens with the 5000m run at 9 a.m. Field events start at 10 a.m. with the remainder of the track schedule getting underway at noon.

ABOUT THE MEET
The meet, originally scheduled for Saturday, was rescheduled for Friday due to expected inclement weather in the Hammond area. Tulane will see top regional programs, including host Southeastern, Southern, Alcorn State, Nicholls, Xavier-Louisiana, Loyola (New Orleans) and Hinds Community College, in Hammond on Friday.

LAST TIME OUT
Tulane traveled just five competitors to the Houston Alumni Invitational in Houston, Texas, last weekend, but delivered big results. Sophomores Raymond Kibet, Brandi Hughes and Maya Harewood and juniors Jessica Duckett and Rebekah Markel all nabbed top-three finishes to highlight the Green Wave's weekend.

Kibet put together a spectacular performance in the men's 400m race, posting a time of 46.59 to finish second in a tough field including of competitors from No. 2 Texas A&M and conference foe No. 3 Houston. On Tuesday, Kibet was named American Athletic Conference Male Track Athlete of the Week for his performance, as he now holds the fastest 400m dash in The American this season.

On the women's side, Harewood earned a top-three finish in the 400m dash. Harewood snagged a second-place finish in the event with a time of 55.51.

Duckett finished second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:00.40 and finished 11th in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.84 ( 0.9 m/s). Hughes finished fourth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.97 ( 0.9 m/s) and finished third in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:02.78.

Markel was Tulane's lone competitor in the field events. She finished second in the pole vault with a mark of 3.85m.
