NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane men's basketball team hosts Memphis in American Athletic Conference action on Sunday, January 13. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m., at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse.
The game will be televised nationally on ESPNU and available on the WatchESPN app. Drew Fellios will provide play-by-play, while Sean Harrington delivers color commentary of the action.
STARTING FIVE
    1. Tulane looks to snap a five-game skid and score its first American Athletic Conference victory of the season in the first of two regular-season meetings against Memphis.
  2. Sunday's matchup will be the 64th in the all-time series, as the Tigers have returned home from New Orleans with victories in each of their last two trips. The Green Wave earned a 94-86 overtime win on Feb. 13, 2016 in their last home win in the series.
  3. During Mike Dunleavy Sr.'s NBA coaching career, he coached against current Memphis head coach Penny Hardaway during his playing career a total of 20 times. Dunleavy's teams won six of those matchups, while Hardaway averaged 16.3 points per game against Dunleavy-coached teams.
  4. Tulane and Memphis played one common opponent on the non-conference docket in South Dakota State. The Green Wave earned an 84-80 win over the Jackrabbits on a neutral court in Estero, Fla., on Nov. 19, before the Tigers tallied an 88-80 victory on their home court on Dec. 4.
  5. Tulane has flaunted what Dunleavy has called his deepest team since his arrival. Ten of the Green Wave's 12 players to see court time this season average at least 11.5 minutes per game.
BY THE NUMBERS
3.14 -Â After winning The American's Team Academic Excellence Award in 2018, the Green Wave posted a 3.14 GPA during the fall 2018 semester, the highest in program history. Nine of 14 players posted at least a 3.0 GPA, including each international player on the team.
6 -Â Redshirt junior forward Samir Sehic has posted six double-doubles this season and in each of the last two games. He has eight in his career after compiling two last year.
135 -Â Redshirt senior guard Jordan Cornish has scored 865 points in three plus seasons (two at UNLV, second at Tulane) and needs just 135 more to eclipse 1,000 for his career.
