
Sailing Heads to New England for Coed Showcase Finals

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane sailing team hits the road and heads to New England this weekend, set to compete in the Coed Showcase Finals on Saturday and Sunday.
"The team is definitely excited and eager to compete this weekend," head coach Charles Higgins said. "At this stage we are looking to get the most out of each of these national level events. Down the road, these experiences will help us tremendously. This group has been eager to compete in this event for weeks, and I feel confident we will have success this weekend."
The Green Wave will sail against 16 of the country's top teams on the water, including Christopher Newport, Cornell, Eckerd, Fordham, George Washington, Hampton, Jacksonville, Northeastern, Old Dominion, Roger Williams, NY Maritime, Salve Regina, Kings Point, Michigan, Rhode Island and USF.
Skippers Cameron Giblin and Ciara Rodriguez-Horan, alongside Katie Cartiglia, Quinn Keenan, Grace Siwicki and Stephen Hahn, finished in 11th-place among 18 teams in the Coed Showcase Semifinals two weeks ago at St. Mary's College.
Giblin, alongside crews Keenan and Caroline Benson will sail the Division A races this weekend, while Asher Zittrer and crews Rodriguez-Horan and Siwicki will sail the Division B races.
The teams will sail in 18 total races, weather depending, over the course of the two-day regatta.
