NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane men's basketball team returns to the hardwood for its second game of the season to host Jackson State on Tuesday, November 12. Opening tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m., at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse.

STARTING FIVE
1. Tulane looks to start the season 2-0 for the second time in the last three seasons and build on its 21-point victory in the season opener in its second game of the season against Jackson State.
2. The Green Wave defeated Southeastern Louisiana, 76-55, in their first game under head coach Ron Hunter last Wednesday night behind four double-digit scorers and 43 second-half points. Jordan Walker led the way with career-highs in points (24), field goals made (7), 3-pointers made (5), steals (4) and minutes played (37). Teshaun Hightower added 18 points and seven rebounds, while graduate K.J. Lawson contributed 13 points, eight rebounds, six assists and three steals. Graduate Christion Thompson compiled his first career double-double with 10 points and grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds.
3. Jordan Walker was named to the first American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll of the season on November 11 following his breakout performance against Southeastern Louisiana.
4. Tulane and Jackson State last met on Dec. 19, 2014 in New Orleans, as the Green Wave held on for a 56-49 victory. Lou Dabney scored a game-high 22 points and Jay Hook added 10 points, nine rebounds and four steals, as the Wave came away with the win despite shooting 14 of 42 (.333) overall from the field, while holding the Tigers to 18 of 57 (.316) shooting.
5. The Green Wave have won five of their last six games against teams from the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) dating back to the 2015-16 season.
BY THE NUMBERS
• 4 – The Green Wave placed four scorers in double-figures in their season-opening win over Southeastern Louisiana on Nov. 6. The Wave accomplished that feat just six times in 31 games last season.
• 175 – Tulane has made at least one 3-point field goal in 175 consecutive games. The last time the Green Wave failed to do so came on Jan. 16, 2014 at home against Louisiana Tech when they went 0-for-14 from outside.
• 181 - Despite 11 newcomers, players on Tulane's 2019-20 roster have combined to make 181 career starts over the last four seasons.
SCOUTING JACKSON STATE
• Tulane leads the all-time series against Jackson State, 3-1, and has won three straight matchups.
• The Tigers have not won a true non-conference road game in 21-straight attempts, with the last coming in a 68-63 victory at Drake on Dec. 10, 2016.
• Jackson State enters Tuesday's contest with an 0-2 record following a pair of road losses at Cal Baptist (93-70) and UC Santa Barbara (82-63) on consecutive days last week.
• The Tigers are led by junior guard Tristan Jarrett's 20.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. He scored 22 points against Cal Baptist, before tallying 19 points the following night at UC Santa Barbara.
• Jackson State was picked to finish fifth out of 10 teams in the 2019-20 SWAC preseason poll. Sophomore forward Jayveous McKinnis was tabbed as the SWAC's preseason defensive player of the year.
SEASONED COACHING STAFF
• Head coach Ron Hunter has assembled a veteran coaching staff featuring two former NCAA Division I head coaches - Ray McCallum (Ball State - 1993-2000; Houston 2000-04; Detroit Mercy - 2008-16) and Kevin Johnson (Centenary - 1999-2005), as well as Claude Pardue.
• The Green Wave are one of just nine schools nationally to have three of its four coaches currently or previously holding head-coaching titles, along with Pittsburgh (4), Iowa (4), Creighton (3), Michigan State (3), Minnesota (3), Oklahoma State (3), South Carolina (3) and Washington (3).
2020 PAC-12 CHINA GAME
• In an announcement on November 8, the Tulane University and University of Washington men's basketball programs will meet in Shanghai for the sixth edition of the Pac-12 China Game, tentatively scheduled for Saturday, November 14, 2020.
• Tulane possesses one of just five Chinese-born players in NCAA Division I for the 2019-20 campaign in Shenyang native Kevin Zhang. He is also the son of 1992 Olympic silver medalist and former China Women's National Team coach Wang Fang.

SMALL NUMBERS RETURN
• Tulane returned just three scholarship players for the 2019-20 season in Kevin Zhang, Buay Koka and Ray Ona Embo. Only Zhang and Koka played last season, while Zhang was the only Green Wave player to appear in the last 15 games of the season.
• This season, Tulane is one of just six NCAA Division I teams returning less than 21 percent of their scoring while also bringing back less than 16 points per game. Among those teams, the Green Wave return the fewest in both categories:

2. Virginia Tech (13.3 PPG, 18.1%)
3. Washington (13.9 PPG, 19.8%)
4. UCF (14.5 PPG, 20.0%)
