Around the Horn
Tulane opens the 112th season of Green Wave baseball this weekend with a three-game series against the George Washington Colonials at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
Tulane has won each of its last seven season-opening games dating back to the start of the 2012 season.
Â
Since the start of the program, Tulane is 66-46 all-time in the first game of the year.
Â
The Green Wave are looking to claim the season-opening series for the second consecutive year and eighth time in the last nine seasons.
Â
Friday opens a stretch of eight consecutive home games to start the year against the Colonials, Lamar and Ole Miss over the course of the next two weeks.
Â
Coach Jewett on opening weekend and looking at the season…
"Excited. Anytime you reach this time of the year, last year is last year and this year is this year. I think all of our anticipations, and our desires, is to win more. We've talked a lot about it, and we've been rehearsing it more in scrimmages and in daily competition. We've been trying to drive that competitive meter and I feel like the kids are ready."
