Josh Bates Named to American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll
Feb 25, 2019 | Baseball
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane sophomore pitcher Josh Bates was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll on Monday morning.
Â
Bates, a sophomore from Orlando, Florida, earned his first win of the season last week as he pitched seven innings of one-hit baseball against the Lamar Cardinals in a two-game midweek series. Bates struck out seven and walked just two in the win, as the only run of the game was unearned due to a passed ball.
Â
The Cardinals got their first hit of the game on the very first batter and didn't get their second of the game until the ninth inning. Bates retired the side in five of the seven innings he pitched in the contest.
Â
Tulane is back in action this week, hitting the road to take on the Nicholls Colonels Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Ray E. Didier Field in Thibodaux. The game will be televised on CST.
