Tulane Women’s Golf Completes Play at the UCF Challenge

COMPLETE RESULTS
ORLANDO, Florida – The Tulane University women's golf team completed competition on Tuesday at the 2019 UCF Challenge with a score of 291 and finished in 15th place with a three-round total of 884.
The Green Wave's score of 291 tied their lowest mark of the year in the final round, while their three-round total of 884 was their second best tournament score of the year.
"We had a good bounce back round today with four players shooting 73 or better," head coach Lorne Don said. "We need to build off of that heading into our home tournament next week."
Junior Haydyn Gibson led the way for the Green Wave as she tied for 42nd (218). Sophomore teammate Jennifer Rosenberg finished one stroke behind and tied for 49th. Both Gibson and Rosenberg closed out the tournament with final rounds of 73.
"I was pleased with both Haydyn and Jennifer," Don said. "Both of them put up three very solid rounds."
Senior Laura Munoz posted the best score of the day for the Green Wave as she carded a final round of 72. Munoz's score on the final day was her lowest round of the tournament. She finished the three-day event with a tally of 225 and tied for 80th.
Rounding out the Green Wave's starting lineup was junior Gabrielle Correia and freshman Isabella Cardenas as both tied for 84th (228).
The event was held at the par 72, 6,349-yard Eagle Creek Golf Club.
Vanderbilt won the tournament after it shot a final round score of 281 and finished with a total of 841. Miami's Anna Backman captured medalist honors as she posted a three-round total of 205.
The Green Wave return to action on Feb. 17 as they play host to the 2019 Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate. The three-day tournament will be held at English Turn Golf and Country Club.
