
Tulane Women's Golf Heads to Mercedes-Benz Collegiate

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University women's golf team will head to the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate at the Cherokee Country Club in Knoxville, Tenn., on Monday, Sept. 16.

The tournament will begin with two rounds of continuous play on Monday, Sept 16. Tennessee will serve as the tournament host. The third and final round will conclude the tournament on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

The two-day event will be held at the par 71, 5,900-yard Cherokee Country Club. Tulane will face teams from No. 10 Kent State, No. 40 Tennessee, No. 44 Maryland, No. 51 LSU, No. 52 Augusta, No. 56 Charlotte, No. 60 UTSA, No. 63 Mercer, No. 64 Memphis, No. 65 Middle Tennessee State, No. 71 East Tennessee State, No. 91 Chattanooga, No. 109 Eastern Kentucky, No. 125 South Dakota State and No. 144 Southern Mississippi.

The lineup for the Green Wave this week includes freshman Carlota Palacios at No. 1, freshman Hanna Liu at No. 2, junior Jennifer Rosenberg at No. 3, freshman Sandra Vazquez at No. 4 and senior Haydyn Gibson at No. 5.

The last time out, Palacios and Liu led the Green Wave as they tied for 27th at the SMU Trinity Forest Invitation. Liu posted the lowest round of the tournament for Tulane at two under 70 in the final round. Palacios added two rounds of one-over 73 to begin the tournament. The Olive and Blue finished eighth as a team.
