Dinkins Again Named to American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll

NEW ORLEANS, La. – For the second time in two weeks, Tulane women's volleyball sophomore middle hitter Kayla Dinkins was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll the league announced Monday afternoon after the Green Wave opened league play with a pair of wins.

It's the third time a Tulane player has been recognized by the league, as Kaylie McHugh was named the conference's defensive player of the week on September 9.

The Pennsylvania product finished the weekend hitting .306, having 17 kills and 16 blocks in five-set wins over Memphis and SMU at home in New Orleans.
Â
Against Memphis, Dinkins committed just three errors on 15 swings and finished with seven kills against the Tigers, leading the match with seven blocks.
Â
On Sunday in another thriller, Dinkins hit .333 and had 10 kills versus the Mustangs. At the net she was just as solid, accounting for nine blocks, with seven assisted and two solo. Â

Tulane returns to action on Friday, hosting the Houston Cougars at 7 p.m. inside Fogelman in Devlin.
