Women's Tennis Hosts UL Lafayette

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane women's tennis team returns to action at home against Louisiana-Lafayette on Sunday, February 7 at 1 p.m., at the City Park Tennis Center.
SCOUTING UL-LAFAYETTE
The Ragin Cajuns (2-1) enter Saturday's match coming off a 7-0 victory over Southern University on Jan. 31. They opened the season with a 6-1 road win at Incarnate Word before suffering their lone loss, 4-0, at Rice on Jan. 24. ULL is led by Floraine Picaut who owns a 2-0 mark this spring with one win at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots in the lineup, respectively.
LAST TIME THEY MET – MARCH 7, 2020
In its final match of the 2020 spring before the season was cancelled due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Tulane earned a 4-3 comeback road win in Lafayette. Trailing 3-2, the Tulane women's tennis gutted out a pair of three-set wins on courts one and two, respectively, The Green Wave won the doubles point and earned a straight-set win on court four, before Mackenzie Clark and Adelaide Lavery won deciding third sets at the No. 1 and No. 2 spot, respectively, to upend the Ragin' Cajuns on their home courts.
LAST TIME OUT
Tulane (4-1) suffered its first loss of the season, 7-0, at LSU on Feb. 3.
TULANE IN THE ITA RANKINGS
Green Wave sophomore Mackenzie Clark is ranked No. 108 in the ITA's national singles rankings to begin the season. In doubles, Clark and 2020 ITA All-American Mary Caroline Meredith comprise the nation's No. 54 duo.
THE DOUBLES POINT
The Green Wave are 4-0 this season when winning the doubles point and 0-1 when they do not. Tulane has won all three doubles matches in three of the four instances in which they clinch the first team point.
