Tulane Women’s Tennis Shuts Out Louisiana-Lafayette, 7-0

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University women's tennis team posted a convincing 7-0 victory over Louisiana-Lafayette Sunday afternoon at the Pepsi Tennis Center inside City Park. With the win, Tulane moves to 5-1 on the year.
Tulane jumped out to the early lead, as it claimed the doubles point to a take 1-0 lead.
The Green Wave clinched the doubles point thanks to a come-from-behind 7-5 victory by sophomore Lahari Yelamanchili and freshman Cora Barber on court three. The Tulane duo trailed 5-2, but stormed back to win the next five points to claim the victory. Mary Caroline Meredith and Adelaide Lavery opened doubles competition with a dominating 6-1 victory on court one.
In singles, Barber gave the Green Wave their first win, as she defeated ULL's Dana Radovanovic in straight sets, 6-0, 6-4. Teammate and freshman Charlotte Russell followed with a straight set victory of her own, defeating ULL's Isabella Kierkegaard, 6-4, 6-3.
Lavery closed out the match, as she took down ULL's Clara Mantau, 6-3, 6-4.
Meredith and Yelmanchili closed out the sweep of the Ragin' Cajuns with a pair of straight set wins.
Up next, Tulane hits the road and will travel to Alabama to take on the Crimson Tide on Friday, February 12 at 5 p.m.
