
Tulane Closes Regular Season Against ECU Tuesday

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University women's basketball team will welcome East Carolina to Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse to conclude the 2020-21 regular season on Tuesday, March 2. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. against the Pirates.
STARTING FIVE
1. Freshman JerKaila Jordan has made a splash early in her collegiate career. She has been honored by the AAC seven times. Back on Dec. 14 she was named Conference Player of the Week. Jordan has picked up six Freshman of the Week awards this season. She has led the Green Wave in scoring in 13 of the team's 22 games this season.
2. Jordan currently ranks in the top 10 in the American Athletic Conference in scoring (16.7), field goal percentage (.489), free throw percentage (.716) and steals (2.0).
3. Jordan is eighth in points per game in the nation among all freshmen and ninth in field goal percentage. She leads all freshman in The American in both categories.
4. Senior Krystal Freeman leads the Green Wave and ranks fourth in the AAC with 7.6 rebounds per game. She is second on the team and ninth in the conference with 12.5 points a game.
5. Senior Arsula Clark earned Preseason Second Team All-AAC honors. She currently ranks third on the team and 12th in the conference in scoring with a 12.0 points per game average.
SERIES HISTORY – EAST CAROLINA
• The Green Wave and the Pirates have met 27 times in program history with Tulane holding a 18-9 edge.
• The Green Wave fell in the last meeting between the two teams, falling 72-64 back on Dec. 22, 2020.
• Senior Arsula Clark led the Green Wave with 28 points, seven rebounds and six steals earlier this season at ECU.
• Taniyah Thompson was the leader for the Pirates with 27 points and six rebounds. Dominique Claytor grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds for ECU.
• Tulane head coach Lisa Stockton holds an 18-8 all-time record against East Carolina in her career at Tulane.
• Stockton has accumulated a 7-4 record at home against the Pirates over her career.
• ECU will be shooting for its fourth straight win over Tulane. The Pirates have never defeated Tulane in three straight games.
SCOUTING THE PIRATES
• ECU enters Tuesday's matchup with an 8-12 overall record and a 6-9 conference mark.
• The Pirates are coming off an 81-62 win over Memphis Saturday.
• The Pirates had four players in double figures i the win over the Tigers. Maddie Moore led the way with 18 points and five rebounds.
• Senior guard Lashona Monk leads the way for the Pirates with 13.8 points and 2.9 steals per game. She is second on the team with 4.7 rebounds per game.
• Monk leads the conference and ranks 18th in the NCAA in steals per game.
• Sophomore guard Taniyah Thompson adds 11.7 points per game for ECU.
• Senior Dominique Claytor leads the team with 5.1 rebounds per game. She is second on the team and in the conference with 2.65 steals per game. Claytor ranks 40th in the nation in the category.
• The Pirates currently lead the AAC in both steals per game and
turnover margin while also ranking eighth nationally in steals per game and turnovers forced.
• ECU also sits ninth in total steals and 14th in turnovers margin.
• ECU head coach Kim McNeill is in her second season on the
bench for the Pirates and has posted a 17-33 mark since arriving
in Greenville, N.C. She previously made a stop at Hartford for three seasons.
JOINING THE 600 CLUB
• Tulane women's basketball coach Lisa Stockton became just the 77th NCAA women's basketball coach to win 600 games in her career. Stockton is the 19th active Division I head coach with 600 wins.
AMONG THE LEAGUE LEADERS
• Tulane ranks among the league's top five in 16 different statistical categories.
• The Green Wave lead the conference in field goal percentage at .427. They rank second the conference in scoring margin (+8.6) and assist/turnover ratio (1.0).
• Tulane is the only team in The American to have three players ranked in the top 12 in scoring. Freshman JerKaila Jordan is third in the conference with 16.7, while senior Krystal Freeman is ninth at 12.5 and Senior Arsula Clark is 12th at 12.0 points per game.
JORDAN SETS RECORDS
• Freshman JerKaila Jordan has won six American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week awards this season.
• Jordan now holds the all-time conference record for freshman of the week awards by a single player.
• She joins Iowa's Caitlin Clark and UConn's Paige Bueckers as the only freshmen in the nation to post back-to-back-to-back games of 28 or more points this season.
• Jordan and Bueckers are the only two freshmen in the nation averaging at least 16.0 points, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals while shooting 48.0 percent or better from the field.
FRESHMAN LEADS THE WAY
• Freshman Jerkaila Jordan currently leads the Green Wave with 16.7 points, 28 made threes and 45 steals.
• She is second on the team with 60 assists and 15 blocked shots.
• Jordan has scored in double figures in 19 of the Green Wave's 22 games.
• The New Orleans native is sixth all-time in total points among freshmen in program history. She currently has 367points on the year. Her 16.7 points per game are first all-time among freshmen.
• The freshman guard had a career day against UCF on Feb. 17. She scored a then-season-high 28 points on 9-17 from the field and 4-9 from three. This is the most points a Tulane freshman has scored since stats were readily available.
• Jordan followed that performance up with 29 points on 11-21 shooting and 6-7 from the free throw line at USF.
• She continued her hot streak with 29 points on 13-22 shooting from the floor and 3-5 from three at Memphis.
LOUISIANA TALENT
• Freshman Jerkaila Jordan comes to Tulane after winning four straight Louisiana High School State Championships at John Curtis. She was named the MVP of each championship game.
• Jordan was named the Gatorade Player of the Year and Miss Basketball in the state of Louisiana in 2020. She was also the No. 45 recruit in the nation coming out of high school.
• She opened her collegiate career with 17 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two steals against Nicholls. Jordan earned AAC Freshman of the Week honors for her efforts.
• She followed that performance up with 20 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals at South Alabama. The freshman guard shot 2-3 from behind the arc and 4-4 from the charity stripe in Mobile, Ala.
• Jordan was named player of the week from the AAC on Dec. 14.
• The standout freshman earned her third AAC Freshman of the Week Award on Jan. 4, after logging 15 points, three rebounds and three steals in the win over Memphis.
• The New Orleans native earned her fourth Freshman of the Week Honor after tying her career-high with 22 points in the win at Tulsa. She had a career day shooting going 8-9 from the field and 4-4 from three against the Golden Hurricane.
STOCKTON THE LEGEND
• Tulane head coach Lisa Stockton has amassed 600 NCAA wins in her 30-year coaching career. This number currently ranks 19th among all active Division I coaches. Stockton has the most wins of any coach in the American Athletic Conference.

• Now in her 27th year with the Green Wave women's basketball program in 2020-21 it's hard to imagine anyone else at the helm besides Coach Lisa Stockton. Her numbers are staggering: three different conferences, four conference tournament championships, two conference regular-season championships, six All-Americans, 11 NCAA Tournament berths, seven WNIT spots and 537 wins. No one in the history of Tulane women's basketball is even close to Stockton's career numbers.

• The four seniors have combined for 2,871 points, 1,404 rebounds and 626 assists in their careers for the Green Wave.

The Green Wave will head to Fort Worth, Texas, for the American Athletic Conference Tournament in Dickies Arena. Tulane has earned a bye for the first round and will tip-off the tournament on Tuesday, March 9. The Olive and Blue will learn their opponent and game time later this week.
