Women's Tennis Hosts Nicholls in Mid-Week Matchup

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane women's tennis team plays the first of three straight home matches to close out the 2021 regular season on Wednesday, April 7 in an in-state battle against Nicholls. First serves are scheduled for 2:30 p.m., at the City Park Tennis Center.
SCOUTING NICHOLLS
The Colonels (4-13) enter Wednesday's match with losses in six straight contests, including a 7-0 setback at the University of New Orleans on Saturday. Nicholls shares multiple common opponents with Tulane, including Alcorn State, Southern, South Alabama, Samford, Southeastern Louisiana and UNO. The Green Wave are 7-0 against those teams, while Nicholls is 2-4. Junior Morgan Forshag leads the Colonels with a 9-6 overall singles record, including a 7-4 mark at the No. 6 spot in the lineup.
LAST TIME THEY MET - FEBRUARY 12, 2020
Tulane clinched the doubles point with wins on courts one and three, respectively, before collecting straight-set singles wins on courts one, two, four and five to notch a 5-2 home win over the Nicholls. The victory marked the Green Wave's fourth straight victory over the Colonels dating back to the 2015 spring season.
THE DOUBLES POINT
The Green Wave are 9-3 this season when winning the doubles point and 1-5 when they do not. Tulane's lone win without the doubles point came in the 4-3 victory at Florida Gulf Coast on March 31.
LAST TIME OUT
Tulane recorded a 4-3 comeback victory to upend FGCU on March 31 in Fort Myers, Fla. The Green Wave dropped the doubles point and trailed 3-2 with just two singles matches remaining, but Lahari Yelamanchili and Mackenzie Clark closed out three-set wins on courts three and one, respectively, to complete the triumph.

In accordance with current city and campus guidelines, Tulane Athletics is pleased to announce the accommodation of a limited number of fans attend Tulane tennis matches at the City Park Tennis Center. Fans are encouraged to bring their own bag chairs for seating. All spectators will be asked to remain six feet away from the courts at all times, respect social distancing rules, avoid gathering and remain six feet away from others. All spectators are required to wear a mask covering their nose and mouth while inside City Park.
