Jan 31, 2022 | Women's Basketball
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University women's basketball redshirt junior guard Dynah Jones was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll on Monday by the league office.
Jones earned the honor after leading the Green Wave with 17.0 points, 4.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in a 1-1 week in conference play. She connected at a 37.9 percent clip from the field and went 9-of-10 from the free throws on the week.
The New Orleans native began the week with a team-leading and season-best 20-point performance on the road against UCF on Wednesday, Jan. 26. Jones shot 46.2 percent from the field and knocked down three three-pointers against the Knights. She scored seven of her 20 points at UCF in the fourth quarter as the Green Wave fell just shy of a comeback victory over the Knights 69-67. On Saturday, Jan. 29, Jones matched a team-high with 14 points in a home win over ECU 75-55. She added seven assists and a season-high four steals in Tulane's dominant performance over the Pirates.
This is the second time Jones has received a weekly conference honor this season and the third time she has been named to the league honor roll in her career. Jones, Moon Ursin and Arsula Clark have each earned an AAC weekly honor for the Green Wave so far this season.
The Green Wave will dip back into non-conference play on Wednesday, Feb. 2, as it hosts Tougaloo College in Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse. Tipoff between Tulane and the Bulldogs is set for 6 p.m. CT and will be aired on ESPN+. Fans also can listen to the games live on the Tulane Sports Network from Learfield on 88.3 WRBH with Gus Kattengell or streaming on the Tulane Athletics App and The Varsity Network App.
